Social Security (Share your SS story)
Democracy for America is gathering information to help get the point accross that SS doesn't need to be messed with. They are taking stories from people who have used Social Security. I submitted my Dad's story because he lost his father in 1965 when he was only 12 years old. He had 4 younger sisters and his mother did not work. Without Social Security they wouldn't have been able to remain together as a family.
I have been thinking about this since I heard about what Bush wants to do to SS and it has added to my fury. What would my Dad's family have done without this benefit? They would have had to experience the further trauma of being split up into foster homes or with other family members. Below is a blurb from DfA and the link. Hi,

I wouldn't make it if my lil' one didn't receive Social Security. This whole thing is a touchy subject for me. I'll be sure to submit my story.
Thanks.
