LOL! No really though - She's said flat-out herself, you know, that she went completely grey by 1992 or so. Not sure when the extensions started but I'd say certainly by "The Dance." Not certain why people just aren't able to see it - "Love is blind," I guess - but Stevie's been wearing her real hair short for ages, and wearing wigs and extensions on top of it. Stevie has never had "long, gorgeous flowing blonde hair." Look at the early photos, her hair's more a brownish color - "Amber," anyone??? Or I guess you could call it "dirty blonde."
She was wearing extensions at least as early as the Tango in the Night tour. It was Very obvious!!

I know she talked about wearing long extensions for the Everyday video and loving them to death and not wanting to take them off. Surely if she was wearing them on a permanent basis it would be, er, 'no big thing'?

I've never really noticed Stevie's makeup, I suppose because I'm only just starting to use it myself. It might be interesting to get a thread going on it?

I know nothing about womens' hair, nor have I ever commented about it. But I think Stevie would look even more beautiful if she softened the bleach-blonde color and went with a darker shade. And I agree with others that the bangs have got to go. It's such a harsh look, and I dare say, on the safer side of a white trash trailer-park style.

I hope the photography being done for her new album presents her in a more natural way. Though it was hard to see the detail, the recent photo of her and Dave Stewart shows her hair in a sexy, more natural state. I suspect she was bangless then.

About Stevie's hair, I think most of it is natural these days. Yes, it has been dyed to hell I'm sure, but I remember in the commentary on the Everyday video she talked about how she loved the beautiful long extensions they gave her at the time because her hair wasn't as long as it is now. I don't remember the direct quote, but it was something to that effect. I think she wears extensions when she needs to, but I don't think she is a Dolly or Cher to any extent. I think Stevie's hair is pretty close to what we've been seeing for a while, with maybe some extensions at opportune times.

Reminds me of back in the day:

Nonono, Michelle. Listen. It looked awesome back then- it's too much now. The heavy liner drags her eyes down.

This is the only "current" picture of Stevie where I think her eye makeup looks good:

Looking for this picture caused me to find one of my all time favorite pictures of her:

(Sorry, didn't feel like going through the whole photobucket thing. Let me know if you can't view these)

while the makeup in the sorcerer vid is pretty, i still stand strong about loving her makeup with the heavy eyeliner. it's how i do my makeup, just not as dramatic. or..well, i used to lol

and that second pic doesn't even look like her!!!!

I love a good red lip on Stevie, so I like the Sorcerer vid's makeup, but I like the Mirage concert's makeup MUCH better - smokey eye AND a red lip. I think that might be my favorite look of hers, actually.

Stunning!

Oh, I also really like the makeup in the Hold Me video. Chris' too!

And I think we should also give Lindsey props for his mad eyeliner skills back in the day, even if I oft suspect we might be able to partially trace Jersey Shore's trouble with self-tanner back to the Law & Order album cover.

^ Beautiful screen captures, Zombie. Big budget Warner Bros. videos shot on film, with top, professional makeup artists. Stevie may now have help with her makeup on tour, but I bet she does most of it herself, if not all of it. It's a Gemini thing, not that I believe in all that...
I think she's doing her own makeup, or has hired someone who does it exactly as she says or else! Back in the 80s, I think she may have let the pros really work their magic with less input, or with less total control than she may require now, for those shots you chose above.
