Default Bijou Cinemas presents "unreleased, non-commercial recording" of Mac

http://media.www.dailyemerald.com/me...-3040297.shtml

This weekend, don't miss the Led Zeppelin concert in Eugene.

Projected onto the Bijou Art Cinema's screen, the three and-a-half-hour "Hammer of the Gods" concert, recorded July 1977 in Seattle, will play as a part of the "Live Archive 'In-Concert' LateNite" series, which runs until June.

Led Zeppelin's show is split into two parts and played on alternating nights through this weekend and the first weekend of November.

"His show is a knockout," said Bijou Cinemas series producer Darren Aboulafia.

Aboulafia said the November showing of the 1980 Bob Marley and the Wailers Germany concert is "phenomenal."

Aboulafia hand selected all twelve digitally remastered concerts from the decades he considers to be the formative years of rock music - the late 1960's through the 1980's. Each recording featured in the "LateNight" series is full-concert length and digitally remastered to 5.1 genuine surround sound.

The rare, highly sought-out concerts include Bob Marley, Dire Straits, Fleetwood Mac and Stevie Wonder. All featured concerts are unreleased, non-commercial recordings.

FLEETWOOD MAC

– 1976 Rumors Live Tour Documentary
In-Concert LateNite: Features FLEETWOOD MAC in a 1976 UNRELEASD Rumors live tour documentary from Santa Barbara! Quite possibly, the finest performances from the Buckingham/Nicks era. Bonus: Additional Rumor-era live material. Pro-Shot video, soundboard audio.

Wonder if its better quality than the ones floating around? I bought this on ebay a few years ago , and I haven't ever even watched all of it b/c the quality is unbearable.

The Japan show? In that case they are off a year. In fact, either way they're off if it's really a Rumours show. And what's that Santa Barbara crap? Am I missing something?

The quality of the Japan footage is certainly not superb, so I am tempted to ask if they are willing to make copies if theirs is better.

Could they be talking about the concert that was used in the Rosebud Documentary?

Could be, but that's rather short. Unless they have more footage.

The outside parts of the Rosebud documentary were from Santa Barbara in 1976 (World Turning Drum Solo and I'm So Afraid) and the inside footage is from an unnown venue (probably Los Angeles) and I'm not even sre if they had an audience on this one. So yeah, I think this will be it!

So that would mean they have more footage from the outside concert?

Bill, you're definitely going. And you're getting us a copy.

Eugene is hippie haven.

I doubt that they have something new. The Rosebud video was never released to public, only send as promo to TV stations to support Rumours. There also appears to be no record of a full reocrding in the Warner Archives, so they only person who might still have the original are the producers and directors of this piece, but that may only be raw and uncut footage. So please don't expect anything more than the full 40 min Rusebud video.

That's what they're talking about. The outdoor stuff was shot at Campus Stadium (in Goleta at the university) in spring '76, says chilid.

For you guys who are complaining (rightfully) about the copies, did you know VH1 Classic broadcast the whole thing about five years ago? That's going to be the cleanest it gets.

Yeah, that's what I have, that's why I was confused why people were complaining about the quality.

Rosebud runs a little over 30 mins. Still seems awfully short to make a night out of it.

You're right, it was just for marketing, like Stevie's Landover '83 film. I think there's a good chance it was also the film used to play to Russian officials when the band was negotiating some concerts in Russia in 1978.
