Fave Live Performance EVER: ISA (The Dance)

The Chain - I agree, Mirage video is my fave Chain ever...The Dance is second fave ever.

Rhiannon - Rosebud or Live 1980

SOTM - Melbourne 80 is my fave live SOTM I've heard so far with Mirage video 2nd just for her "speaking in tongues" AND the Tusk Doc version was WOAH...when the lights went up, the crowd went into HYSTERIA!!!!!!!!! I got chills RIGHT NOW thinking about that one...I need to watch it!!

I'm So Afraid from The Dance= AMAZING. I'm also quite partial to SOTM Mirage video...hell, i'm partial to that whole video. And of course, my Silver Springs...gawd, I love when she takes the mic and drags it across the stage screaming "you'll never get away" *chills*

My favorite live performance was the 1975 Largo, MD video. I love the mix of Peter Green, Bob Welch & White Album songs, with "Why" being my favorite. Also, I never actually saw this particular tour live in person since I didn't get to see them until the Rumours tour.

As for officially released videos, I would say the Mirage video would be my favorite, with "Songbird" being my favorite song on that video. And, "The Dance" is great nostalgia and it's the only one I have on DVD at this time.

I have many, many favorites from the past (& many, many not-so-favorites). I remember how much I loved Stevie's performance of "Landslide" at the Cal Expo Amphitheatre in Sacramento in June 1990. For the first time, after hearing that one performed a bunch of times, I really got the sense that here was a middle-aged woman confronting the passage of time in her life without being maudlin or weepy about it. She showed strength & placidity in her vocals, & it was an exquisite moment.

She also wore a cool little miniskirt.

I don't know what I'm looking forward to this year. I guess it would be fun to hear any of the solid new tunes, like "Say You Will" or "Say Goodbye." I hear Stevie's wearing that Boris Karloff footwear again, so that's kind of a drag, literally & figuratively.

There are so many....

The 'Rosebud' "Rhiannon" will probably always be the pinnacle of that song for me, though I've loved many subsequent live versions.

"Dreams," from the 1980 'Live' album,' and the 1988 'Tango In The Night' concert video.

"Silver Springs," and "Don't Stop," from 'The Dance.'

"Tusk," from the 1997 Irvine, CA. show which was broadcast on the radio.

"I'm So Afraid," from the 1976 show which sometimes re-airs on the King Biscuit Flower Hour (I can't remember where this one was recorded right now... CT., I think... but it's often credited as being recorded in Passaic, NJ.).

"Stand Back," from Oakland, CA., in 1983 (found on the 'Dreamer' boot).

"Edge Of Seventeen," from Stevie's 'Storytellers.'

"Landslide," from The Late Show, January 1998.

"Big Love," from the Rock And Roll Hall of Fame induction ceremony, January 1998.

"Why," and "World Turning," from the Midnight Special, 1976.

"The Chain," and "Sisters Of The Moon," from the 1983, 'Mirage' concert video.

And anything from Stevie's September 18th, 1994, House Of Blues show (the one bootlegged as 'Welcome To My World').

Ah, yes... the "Frankenboks!"

Surely she could find a more stylish pair of comfortable shoes, which would still have the necessarily lift.

I wish I had half the VHS collections you all do! lol!

EDIT -

From my audio collection, I wish these were on video:
Shine Angel 1979 Tusk St. Louis
Been Down Three Times Oakland 1977

And I wish a videotape was running in my mind on RECORD during Stevie's AH-I benefit in 12/01 (only had a DAT with me!)...
