I think Stevie referred to Dolly Parton's "Coat of Many Colors" in her interviews at times .
True story I love those early 1920's dresses and hats also the big southern belle dresses of any color.I rather see her in those them pants of any color.

Also, do we have any confirmation that "Jane" was considered for Timespace? I know there's a full version of "Listen To The Rain" from Timespace before it was insisted that Stevie drop it and record "Sometime's It's A Bitch" instead, but speculation aside, do we have any confirmation regarding "Jane"? |

Okay this is my first post, and as a Stevie fan I should do this.
1) I strongly dislike the studio version of Landslide 2) I used to hate Nightbird 3) I hate the demo Priest of Nothing 4)I love all of Stevie's songs from TITN 5) I *dont mind* Stevie's vocals from Red Rocks. The video is atrocious however. 6) I like only two songs from SA, the single edit of Blue Denim and Rose Garden. 7) I don't really like the version of Silver Springs from The Dance 8) Julia should have been on 24KT Gold instead of She Loves Him Still 9) Dave Stewart needs to stayhe hell away from another Stevie album |

Docklands is a real cover, I forgot who recorded it first but it wasn't Stevie. Yes, a new demo of "Jane" was recorded in 1991. If was considered for Timespace or not, it was recorded and written then, and that was my point. |

Now I love Nightbird! Up until a few months ago I absolutely hated it. I used to think the notes at the beginnings were someone banging on the synthesizer. And thanks everyone for the warm welcome!

Let me first preface this by saying I'm very glad Stevie kicked her drug habits. Things could have taken a whole other turn as it has with so many other great artists, and I'm glad that's not the case with her.
That said.... I totally miss coked-out Stevie. I happened to catch the "I Can't Wait" video the other day (which I could watch on a 24-hour loop, BTW) and I was reminded how much I used to love watching her back in the day. I mean, it used to be nothing less than mesmerizing than watching Stevie in the clutches of full on manic, drug-fueled exorcism when she performed. I get that she's getting up in age, but even back in the 90s something happened and she just became more and more an immobile object fixed to the microphone. |
