recent concert video and album remaster trend
I'm sure some of you have noticed that it seems to be the trend right now for rockers from the boomer generation to release old concert videos and remasters of older albums, either for the first time, or in expanded form, box set, etc. Bowie's Station to Station, Springsteen's Darkness On the Edge of Town, etc. I got my biggest surprise the other day though when I went to Borders and was glancing at the performance dvd section. The Rolling Stones, within the last two months, have allowed the remastered releases of BOTH, Let's Spend The Night Together (never released on dvd) and LADIES & GENTLEMEN: THE ROLLING STONES, one of the most famous concert videos never released on any kind of home video format, that has been bootlegged by generations.
It's time for Fleetwood Mac to follow suit and remaster Mirage & Tango, and put out a couple of old concerts on dvd. There is no reason not to, and the market is hot right now for that kind of product. thanks for listening to my rant and go watch some of those amazing old Stones concerts |
