Default Tango in the Night demos and outtakes

I have a few CDs' worth of demos, outtakes and alternatives for this era, but only one of the actual title song, which is frustrating because it's my favourite! Is there anything out there for that song?

To get us started, here's a collection called 'The Last Tango'. It has one vesion of TITN, but I don't hear much of a difference from the album version.

http://www.mediafire.com/?sharekey=e...a6cde8539f3470

Enjoy, and please share what you have!

THE LAST TANGO

1. Caroline
2. Mystified
3. Little Lies (instrumental)
4. Big Love
5. Ricky
6. Juliet
7. Eyes Wide Shut
8. Joan of Arc
9. Everywhere
10. Isn’t it Midnight
11. When I See You Again (Solo endings)
12. Tango in the Night
13. Seven Wonders
14. No Questions Asked

You're welcome
Still dying to hear some outtakes of the title song, if anyone has them to share?

That version of No Questions Asked is just stunning. I've heard of it but never actually heard it. And I like that softer take on Seven Wonders. It reminds me of the 12" mix. And I don't know why but that demo of Little Lies reminds me of that Billy Joel song that was used as the theme song for Bossom Buddies.

Thank you so much for posting these.

Now this is what it was supposed to sound like. It's like the fog parted and this little golden ray of sunshine emerged. The released version sounds like it was recorded in a dungeon. Under a layer of fluffernutter and Spanish moss. Also love the fact that you can hear Christine prominently here!

Thanks Sahara!

Also, I found this version of "Joan of Arc" on YouTube, but I don't think I've ever heard it previously. Anyone have an audio file of this? This version is pristine!

I had no idea You And I Pt II was originally a Christine song called Eyes Wide Shut! Very cool!! Thanks for sharing these, Kathryn!!

The No Questions Asked mix is not a TITN outtake - but it's a MUCH better mix than the Greatest Hits mix which sounds muddy and has too many vocal overdubs.

I much prefer this.

Agreed. There's way too much Billy on the official version. I really don't like his voice at all.

Downloaded these the other night. Thanks for posting!

Pretty much listened to them all. Some I already have and others not. Juliet still kills me lol...she consults her book. Yeah, I can just see the 4 of them in the studio when they first listen to the tape of Stevie's vocal. I love it though. The cool funny thing about it is you imagine where she was when she did the vocal (and the others, for that matter) since she did most of them while on the road, no? Can we assume that all of her main vocals were done on the road? Anyway, I like to think it was done after some crazy night after a concert lol. She wanted to keep going and just demanded to put a vocal on one of the songs for that "damned FM band thing I have to do" lol. It's actually a shame that they couldn't do something with this for the album. Reminds me of Angel, mood-wise and musically. This, and Joan of Arc (albeit really dark and obviously not the mood they wanted for the album) still would've been better than the 2 other stevie cuts.

I always liked Mystified and hadn't heard it in probably years. There's something about the way I heard it the other night on the demo (or, earlier versions as some of these apparently are). Yeah, it's a sleepy yarn but very reminiscent of something that either was or would've been on one of the earlier albums (pre-BN...Show Me a Smile?).

I kinda wish that the whole final album wasn't so slick 80's pop. It sounds very light at times and just too produced, even at the time. I remember when I first listened to the album err...tape, I think. Maybe I bought both at the same time. My main memory at the time (April 1987) was flying to LA for a vacation from Chicago, where I lived at the time, and listening to it quite a bit on the plane. It was pretty cool, in retrospect. My first plane flight ever. And it was cool to be in Fleetwood Mac territory. I recall going to Tower records in LA and the whole outside wall was the Tango front cover art. Wow, they knew I was coming!

Anyway, enjoyed these...thanks for posting!
