They both have that drum synth sound and SB is actually a slower song (beat per minute wise) than Nightbird and it just doesn't sound good. A song needs to be in-between them. So for the album and cassette tape, WH is fine, but for the CD, I would have put "Garbo" in between them.
omg, this has always bugged the **** out of me. I totally agree.

Anything over what was used ...As far as the music - the songs simply needed the same touch that the 4 songs from this CD have on Enchanted (where you can actually hear and understand her vocals better). I would replace Docklands with "Thousand Days" (the one that was on one of the import CD singles.)
again, 100% agree.

Bella Donna should be left the hell alone - it's perfect as it is. A fukcing masterpiece if Stevie ever had one.

I couldn't get into The Wild Heart for the longest time, but I finally came around to really liking it - it's not as perfect as BD, but it's pretty close. I don't care too much for Gate & Garden or I Will Run to You - but in all honesty, I'd probably leave G&G. I do think Garbo belongs on this album somewhere, badly.

Like BD, I wouldn't mess with Rock a Little. I've always loved that album. TOSOTM on the other hand...I'm not sure where I'd start with that one. The only songs on it that I think are really great are Rooms on Fire and Ooh My Love. Most of the other songs have their moments, but - eh.

I can see some potential in Street Angel, somewhere. First I'd replace the SA versions of Blue Denim, Rose Garden, Destiny, and Street Angel with the Enchanted versions. Definitely eliminate Unconditional Love, MLWCYM, Jane, and Kick It. I might consider keeping Greta, Love Is Like a River, and Listen to the Rain. Maybe put Thousand Days on there somewhere. I dunno. Like I say, there's some potential someplace, but the album is a mess.

TISL - get rid of That Made Me Stronger and Too Far from Texas and put Thrown Down on there or another one of the outtakes that have surfaced - they may not be the best songs she's ever written, but they're certainly preferable to the two turkeys that wound up on the album. Do that, and TISL would be damn near flawless.

I have one thing to say on this subject.

Why the hell is "Space Needle" not on Trouble in Shangri-La?!?!?!?!?!?!?!??!

This will infuriate me forever.

I think I'm the only one on this whole board who loves that song!

I totally agree with the Bella Donna album of what should be on it
For the Wild Heart album, I would've added "Violet and Blue"
Rock A Little, I would've added "Battle of the Dragon" and "Reconsider Me"
The Other Side Of The Mirror I would've added "Mirror, Mirror". That would've been perfect with the theme of the album!
Shangri-La, yes could've used "Space Needle". They had plenty of room to put that on there, it's not like the album was released on vinyl. Alot of our favorite Stevie songs that weren't featured on any of her albums were probably cut because they couldn't fit. Vinyl is so different that cd. On a cd, you can put up to 20 songs on a disc with vinyl, 10 tops. 5 on each side depending on how long your song is. That's why "Silver Springs" got cut from Rumours, it was too long and it didn't fit.

Anyway pictures! My idea for the "Street Angel" album cover would be nighttime with the stars and a full moon and Stevie standing in the middle of an intersection in the big city no traffic, just her, the stars, the moon and the city.
Rock A Little album cover should've been this photo

I know this is a little off subject but I want to mention a change in a Fleetwood Mac album cover for Tango In The Night...I think this should've been the cover...

I enjoy that picture a great deal. But since it was already 8 years old by the time Tango came out, I would have wanted something new for Tango. I am already mad at them for not giving us any new official photos for this Unleashed tour. I wouldn't want another reason to shake my fists at them, retroactively.

I thought that pic looked suspiciously like it came from the Tusk era. But that doesn't bother me nearly as much as Lindsey's dirty feet (or are they Mick's?) - they're as black as soot!

^^

Correct me if I'm wrong, but that picture to me looks like a Tango in the Night era one. Stevie's wearing lace gloves a la I Can't Wait, and her hair also looks similar. Mick is wearing the hat that's in the inlay photos of the album. It's also in the same room as the inlay photos.

That pic is definetly from TITN....I understand how it can be a bit confusing since there is a similiar photo of all 5 of them in the TUSK liner notes, except the photo is in black and white and they appear to be floating on the ceiling.
Stevie's hair, with the extreme blonde highlights in the front and permed big 80's hair and pastel background alone should be a BIG clue that this is an TITN photo. This shot the was in the inner liner notes for TITN

Oh, ok. Sorry I confused it.

First & foremost: I think she just should've NOT released TOSOTM at all...just saved "Rooms On Fire" & "Whole Lotta Trouble" for the Behind The Mask album. Would've really liked to have heard how Rick & Billy would've made "Whole Lotta Trouble" a kick ass blues/rock song...get rid of the horns & synths that ruin the existing version.

I wouldn't CHANGE Bella Donna other than to just ADD "Blue Lamp" & "Gold and Braid" as bonus tracks.

The Wild Heart: Oh, I don't know...there's just too much to fix on this one, that I'll just leave it "as is"...and add "Garbo" & "Violet & Blue" as bonus tracks (somewhere in the middle of the album, though..."Beauty & The Beast" has to still END the album.)

Rock A Little: Oh, where to start? Well, I wouldn't touch what was "side 2" of the LP, that's damned near perfection. Side one is in a world of hurt after "I Can't Wait". Yeah, the aforementioned addition of "Battle Of The Dragon" is a definite improvement. But, "One More Old Time Rock & Roll Star" wouldn't be a step-up from the tripe that makes up most of side 1.

Maybe she just should've released a 8 song EP:

I Can't Wait
Battle Of The Dragon
Some Become Strangers
Talk To Me
The Nightmare
If I Were You
No Spoken World
Has Anyone Ever Written Anything For You

Street Angel: Should've opened the album with "Maybe Love..." and replaced the Dylan cover with "Thousand Days". (I have the US album...on the cover "Greta" is spelled with the 1 "t", but when I downloaded it to iTunes, it picked up the title with the double "t". I thought that was a bit odd.)

TISL: Only change would be replace "Too Far From Texas" with "Touched By An Angel". (Why not "Space Needle"? BECAUSE IT's unfinished...and who knows what dastardly things they would've done to it?)

Actually, the "black & white" photo you describe is in color on the original Tusk LP packaging.

AJKHAGHHJSGDSDGHJKSHKASHJAGS!!!!

NOT HAVE RELEASED OSOTM!? But but..Rooms On Fire, Long Way To Go, Ooh My Love, Ghosts, Whole Lotta Trouble, Alice, Juliet, Doing The Best I Can. Plus, having ROF and WLT on BTM means no "Freedom" or "Affairs Of The Heart" or "The Second Time" and I love all 3 of those.

"The Wild Heart" is STUNNING imo, but too short. Same with "Bella Donna" So I really don't think anything needs "fixing".

Leave side 2? Errr..hello.."The Nightmare" is just that. And "Sister Honey" and "Imperial Hotel" are too cool.

That photo is on the back of the album but it also appeared in a single from "Tango", and I think it was "Seven Wonders".
