Very cool. How did you win it? I didn't want to splurge on one for me for Christmas. I don't know that I'd want a video one, though.

They had contests on TV (UPN) for weeks. Like, you could win $444 and an Xbox before, then they had some other prize, now the video ipod.
The TV said: "Watch (insert Simpsons, South Park, or Will and Grace) at (insert 10:30, 11:00, etc. depending on the show) and type in the secret word, and you could win a video ipod!!!"
So, I watch those shows anyway and have been entering whenever I noticed; quite a bit. Then I won.
Yeah, I didn't really want a video one, either.

But, you know. What do they do? I think you can only get videos from their sites...not like I can take Stevie videos with me wherever I go.

I wish I'd have won during the "$444" time...
It is rad to win things, though.

Thats the one I just spent 300 clams on last weekend. I really like it. It was daunting at first, but I got the hang of it after 2 days.

I've got several MPEGs on my laptoppy that I wants to put on my iPOD but I havent figured THAT out yet. I have over 1,000 songs on it already...its real cool because you can go in and name each song, album title and year it was released, change the display....the "click wheel" took me about 30 minutes to figure out. I didnt know you just "roll" your finger in a circle. I thought mine was defective because I thought the wheel literally rolled.

Cool. I just saw this on the site "Learn how to use QuickTime 7 Pro to export your home movies to iTunes and sync them to your new iPod." By "home movies" could that mean "videos I have on DVD"?

Though I'm with you on not wanting a video iPod. What the hell would one watch on it? Can you put any kind of video file onto it or what? And isn't the screen, like, an inch and a half?

Well, I just perused the store, and there's lots of TV shows, audio books, music (of course, tons I want), videos, and podcasts (which I don't totally understand, because they had some TV shows listed under podcast, and I thought it was just audio? Which would be lame for a TV show, unless it was a documentary. I noticed they had "Curb Your Enthusiasm" in there...

). They have quite a lot of all those things, so maybe it will be cool? The screen is 2.5" I think? Yeah, small. I haven't figured out yet if you can put your own videos (which is what I want) but I did find a tantalizing tidbit that said "learn how to put your own home movies on your ipod using...Quicktime 7 pro!"
but I dunno. I guess it's cool that I can store more stuff, if nothing else. I suspect it will be a bit cooler than I think. I hope so. So far I've just seen tons of available music that I want and don't have. As many of you know, I hardly have any music.

That's so cool!

I think that even if you don't want to put videos on it, you will appreciate the larger screen for album artwork, or your own photos.

Congratulations, Amber! My boss's daughter (isn't that a movie?) won one at her company's Christmas party... she's not too sure how to use it yet either, but was intrigued when I told her she can download current episodes of Lost from iTunes' website (she travels a lot).

I'm sure you'll get a lot of enjoyment out of it, once you start exploring all of the options, etc.
