Uh, this is a totally different kind of song from Trouble. Trouble didn't really have that much of a lyrical hook, per se. It was a very laid-back song, musically, that was designed to have layers to bring out distinctions in it's sections. It's main hook were the guitar sounds he was using. Lyrically, it was sparse and somewhat repetitious. Not a bad thing at all, it fit very well into what was popular at the time. The chorus groove was not that different than the verses in that particular song. It didn't suddenly explode into something else like this song does. It basically layered over the same root groove. It was a certain type of music that this isn't. He uses very distinct sections, layers and key changes for this song. Plus it also has a much stronger bridge. Trouble had a guitar solo to replace the bridge. The form of both songs are too different to really make comparisons. I don't know what area you're in, but being in Seattle, this is right up our alley. I mean, we have a very powerful folk-acoustic fanbase here. Stuff like Regina Spektor and Feist get a lot of airplay here. |

There are quite a bit of them around the country, and this song will do get a lot of airplay on them. |

Yeah, I finally got it into my iTunes! I loved it right away, it's a very sweet, easy song. It has UTS elements, but more upbeat & less over-produced. Hearing the sample the other day I didn't expect to be wowed by the whole song, but I was! I can't wait for all of it to be revealed--it's going to be amazing, I just know it

LOVE!
I also love the chorus toward the end - the way he goes up slightly w/ the melody. |

Same here. On first listen I liked it and by the third or fourth I knew I'd love it completely. I think one of my problems on initial listen was listening on my computer and my brother has the EQ settings weirded up so it sounded really muddy to me when it actually sounds pretty darn good.

I know when they released CAD, SYH and It Was You I said I was not going to listen, but that lasted for less than 3 minutes. At least then it was 3songs. Now, it's just one and I have to be especially careful not to burn myself out on it.

I'm okay w/ hearing the first single through crappy computer speakers on first listen. But I will wait for the CD before listening to any other songs in their entirety (assuming only snippets will appear on LB's official site or myspace).
I know the radio station I listen to all day at work is going to play DYMM and I won't be able to avoid it. |
