Interesting point about the snippets....

Remember the Japan Tour Outtakes...he's sitting there playing in some kitchen? room ? backstage ? before the concert? ...with his guitar in hand doing lots of fingerwork ... it was a nice little ditty...

I have wanted to try and rip the audio to a CD but God help me...I just ain't that bright.

I will have to find the exact spot to tell you where to look...

I wonder if it ever developed into a song...

Well, my favorite moment is when he is playing a piano and sings, in a very deep voice, "That's when your heartaches begin, if you find your sweetheart in the arms of your best friend."

I mean, maybe he just loves Elvis, but I thought that was an interesting song for him to choose and, of course, it was just funny because we don't usually see him on piano anyway and his voice sounded like he was trying out to join The Platters.

I always found the comment that Second Hand News was derived from Jive Talkin' by the Bee Gees very interesting. I can't hear the similarities myself, but I guess musicians recognize it.

I can hear the similarities, but they aren't overly strong. I can see how the beginning of "Jive Talkin'", with the muted guitar and rhythm led to the beginning of "Second Hand News", which has a similar style going on. Before I got to really know Fleetwood Mac, I was really into the Bee Gees, so it always excited me that one favorite band inspired the other.
