Default Thank You ! from Wendy Welch

I'm usually a "behind the scenes" person, but all your well-wishes to Bob and I have touched me.I was diagnosed with a life threatening liver cancer on Valentines day....3 weeks later they told me I had a "fatty mass" in my liver which was not cancerous. The day before I got the results back, my father went into the hospital at 85, and we were very close, and an only child.I immediately went to Memphis to take care of him for a week, and he passed away 10 days later.I couldn't have made it without Bob.But we survived, and now on May 9th I'm having my pacemaker replaced, 4 months overdue , and after that I'll deal with the " mass" in my liver.

It's been very difficult for Bob,but I'm fine and I can't thank you ALL enough for your support of Bob and me.

Appreciate all your prayers and love you all for your support and caring !

Love and kisses,

Wendy Welch

Betsy...No, honestly, it's a fairly minor "routine" procedure..They just cut the surface skin, pop out the old Pacemaker but put in a new fully charged one. The only possible complications are infection...which is true for any procedure. The problem is mainly how bad Wendy felt while the old one was running out of gas....Super tired, short of breath etc. The whole thing is done as an outpatient, like having a biopsy or colonoscopy.Plus, we know the Doc who's doing it and we like him....he did her last one.

Thanks for all the good wishes !

Bob Welch(for Wendy Welch)

I was just wondering how Wendy is doing and if you'd like to give us an update. Hopefully the pacemaker replacement and mass on her liver are taken care of, and she's enjoying good health!

Thanks for asking ;-)
Wendy's OK...although there were some complications with the pacemaker replacement....Turned out that one of the "leads" (wires going into her heart) was bad.....not conducting properly, so they had to replace it. This meant a longer procedure.....and recovery time.

We still have to figure out what, if anything, we have to do about the "fatty liver mass"......

So.......we're both pretty fried at this point

So now you know our life story ;-)
But seriously, you're very sweet to ask !

Bob Welch

Thank you for the update. I'm sure I'm not the only one here who has been keeping you in our thoughts and prayers. I'm glad to hear that the pacemaker replacement is behind you, and you have one less thing to be concerned about.

Best Wishes,

Lori
