Frequency
Happy New Year
I do not know if it was posted before I saw a DVD today from a recent Deanis Quaid Movie called "Frequency" about a man communicating with his father over a Ham Radio 30 years intot the past. I guess it was a movie from a few years agp. Peter was in the credits for them playing a snippet of Rattlesnaake Shake from the Then Play On Album. It was listed as being courtesy of Warner Special Products. Does Warner Brothers get money out of Old Fleetwood Mac songs? Does anybody know when they aqquire the rights to Peters ond stuff and do they have much of FMs old material? I thought Immediate had the rights to Then Play On. Set me straight PS it was good hearing Rattlesnake shake in the soundtrack even if ti involved a serial killer in October 12 1969 They did not do their homework as I do not believe that Album was released in the US at that time to be playing in a bar. Oh Well doodyhead |

Thanks, now I have an excuse to watch this movie again. I was well aware of "Rattlesnake Shake" when I saw "Frequency" (2000/2001?) "on demand", but don't remember hearing it in the film. I do remember that I liked the movie. I'm a sucker for movies that deal with time travel/parallel universes/Earths'. I'm currently hooked on the BBC version of "Life On Mars", and it's successor, "Ashes to Ashes".
As for rights to the album, it's definitely Warner Brothers. The studio version of "Oh Well" was used in a "My Name Is Earl" episode a couple years ago. Immediate only held the rights to "Man of the World". As much as I listen to Andrew Loog Oldham's show on "Underground Garage", he never mentions the brief period he had the recording rights to Fleetwood Mac. |

Then Play On was indeed released on Warner Reprise, and the info I have shows it was released in the US in October 1969, about a month after the UK release. Don't have an exact date though.
Happy New Year to all! |
