Default Cable Choice for My New Turner?

I know what Lindsey uses in his rig, and have read many times about this. What no one has ever mentioned is what cable(s) he uses to get the awesome sound of that Turner to the amp.

Any guitar players know what he's using?

I have a new Turner on the way and I'm cable shopping. I've been looking at Evidence Audio and Zoalla, but haven't made a firm decision yet.

I'm currently using a coiled VOX cable on my LP and VOX AC50 and it works well, and much better than the $15 cable I was using.

Michael,

I use Monster cables on my Turner (and my Les pauls)... but I'm not sure what Lindsey uses.

I looked at Monster, but I'm leaning heavily in the Evidence direction.

Thanks for your reply. I guess that's one of those things we may never know without an insider.

I'll get some photos of the Turner up when it gets here. Should be Wednesday or Thursday of next week. Joanne is out of town until Tuesday and she said she'd make sure it ships as soon as she got home. She went to see her kids and grandkids in CT.

I don't think you should be as concerned with the cables as much as the amp/pedals for the Buckingham tone

Exactly. Unless it was a bad/faulty cable I don't think it matters at all. Cables effect on the tone would be negligible to non-existent. At least that's what I've always found.

Most that I've talked to at the guitar forums I frequent mostly agree, especially for a short cable run. I do understand the physics behind the claims they make for the high-end cable, but I doubt my ears could hear the difference. Too much R&R volume over the last 30 years.

I have the VOX and the LP dialed in for GYOW, SS, and Dreams from The Dance. No pedals at all. Can't wait to dial in the Turner. This should blow away the LP. I'm also looking forward to experimenting with the other tunes.
Another I have dialed in is Countdown for the lead. I have that slightly chorused through a Boss CE-5. The only tune I use it for.

Can't afford a Mesa after springing for the guitar, but maybe next year. The VOX does sound really good though. The only effect I'm running it through is a Midiverb IV through the loop for the short slapback delay.

Yeah I have yet to upgrade to a Tremoverb Mesa, but I find the Rectoverb and the 25 Express model will do ya' just fine

I just bought a couple of pairs of Monster Cables (Rock).

I am amazed by the difference, especially on my Strat.

I should have got these cables years ago.

Well, I couldn't help it. I couldn't justify using a $35 cable for the Model 1, and then a five dollar cable from the pedal to the amp and three dollar jumper between pedals.

Just call me an idiot that got taken in by the hype (and the physics). Well, you can't take it with you.

$105 for a 15' Zoalla main cable, $45 for a 5' from the last pedal to the amp, and a $27 9" jumper between pedals.

I'm not what you'd call an audiophile, but I've done my share of mixing and recording in the past and I know good cables are important.

Small price to pay for good signal after dropping five grand on a guitar. At least I'll know that the signal chain is good.

Can you point me towards the Physics? As a guitarist and a physicist I'd find it interesting but I've always assumed a cable was a cable and the rest was just snake oil.

Merci. I thought it would be something like that. I'm still happy with my cheap cables for now. I'll wait until I have something worth playing though it before I get any.

Think of it in these terms... your "setup"... whether it be home theater or otherwise, is only as good as your weakest link. The cabling.

I thought you sold your Turner(I saw the auction end on eBay)? Did your buyer fall through? Or you've got more than one?
