Default Eyes of the WOW!

Eyes of the World has always been a massive favourite of mine, in terms of the album track. Then the Mirage live version with Christine and Lindsey doing the vocal Pachabel's Canon intro "Ooh ooh ah ah" thing was great.

But it seems the song has really hit its stride in its latest incarnation, judging by such SYW tour recordings as the Birmingham show. The full-throttle percussion and perfected vocal arrangement just hit the nail.

Thoughts?

PS I Can only imagine what it would/WILL (can't believe I'm saying *will* ) be like to hear/see it live in person.

I'm trying to figure out the Pachabel's canon thing...I don't really know what that sounds like, although I HAVE heard it! It sounds GREAT live--canon or not! I was listening to the Mirage track the other day and I started doing Stevie's backing vocals--the oooohs that go up and down, lol. It works!

If I'd have written a song on "Rumours"? How about "You want a what?", or "We should have had a Pre-Nup". (John McVie)

Eyes of the World is one of my all-time favorite Lindsey songs. I love the inspired genius that went into translating the classic Canon melody into the intro on the album version and the live version with Lindsey's "Cradle" band really rocks hard! I think the SYW tour version is probably comparable . . .

Barbara

I also think it could have been a hit single if it had gotten any radio play.

This was the "Go Your Own Way" of Mirage. It's a little weird, but once you get into it, you can't help wanting to hear it again and again.

I suppose if Go Your Own Way could hit, this might have gotten into the charts too.

Definitely my favourite version of the song!

The way they're playing it now totally rocks too....! Especially with that fast beat drum intro!

(By the way...ever since I heard it in Dallas, I was trying to figure out what that drum intro reminded me of and FINALLY today I remembered....the drum intro is uncannily similar to the intro. to "You Could Be Mine" by Guns N' Roses..! Strange but true!)

Thumbs up Great song!!

I love the song (and all LB's songs on Mirage, but I'm in the minority. LOL), and it's a TERRIFIC version on the Mirage video!! I love the Canon thing he and Christine do....cute, then, when LB kinda yells but kinda doesn't..."YEAH!" LOL I didn't recognize the song in Dallas at first, but then, it hit finally hit me and I turned to seteca and went "Eyes of the World!!!"

I love all 3 versions from Mirage to Cradle to now. I really like how he put a 'Beach Boys' spin on the '93 version. Does anyone have the mp3 of it where a few verses Lindsey seems to sing them in Japanese? LOL

I don't know where its from, in fact I don't know how I got it. But one of the verses is complete gibberish, or perhaps Japanese. anyway, it's a good version, very fun. If anyone knows exactly where its from could you let me know.

I think Christy decided Lindsey couldn't remember the verse, so it's just gibberish, but if you want me to send it i can, just let me know an email address.
