Default What music does Stevie like to listen to?

We know she is fascinated by Vanessa Carlton... But what other musicians/bands has she mentioned in interviews that she enjoys listening to?

I'd be interested to know if she still listens to the artists from the sixties that initially influenced her - Janis Joplin, Joni Mitchel, Buffalo Springfield, Byrds, etc..

I suppose, to a certain extent, she listens to the artists with whom she has worked with. She likely has a very eclectic list -- artists of various eras and genres. I think we might baffled by her choices.

She really likes Haim... She even did an interview with them for T magazine and sang Rhiannon with them. Both she and Lindsey have hailed Haim as the future of rock music.

I would love to know what 900+ songs she put on the iPods she handed out at Walter Reed.

Good point!

Perhaps someone can track down one of the (former?) patients who received her iPods. He song choices would give us a window into her musical psyche. I assume some of the songs are hers.

Stevie seems to like everything. To add on to what was mentioned, she seems to like some Hip Hop as well. She mentioned liking Notorious B.I.G and she loves California Love by Tupac.

Wow. She's much more current than I am (even though some of these artist aren't so current).. When I look at the charts, there may be one or two artists/bands that I know of , or follow. I'm old school and far from the youth generation that dominates the market. But I'm okay with it. That's life.

The Rolling Stone article mentioned she was listening to Somebody's Baby by Jackson Browne and The Fray in her dressing room.

I have a hard time imagining her listening to anything but chamber music.

She's gonna turn out to be one of those old ladies that likes boy bands and talent show fodder, isn't she...

And Led Zeppelin? She looked a little star-struck in those pictures with Robert Plant a few years ago.

the Rolling Stone article with her on the cover talked about the various playlists on her iPod... you know, the ones she plays and annoys Lindsey with through the dressing room wall .
