FM at Studio 54
Did the FM gang ever party at Studio 54 during it's hey-day??? Late 70s....loads of famous people.....endless drugs......you would think that this would be right up their alley. Anyone know??

Who knows?
It was more of a disco place, though, and I can't imagine some members of FM being part of that scene. Besides, they seemed to enjoy drugging in public, as opposed to being seen drugging by all and sundry. |

Mick didn't mention it inh his book, but I think Carol Ann did. In 1978 Fleetwood Mac was already kind of... part of the jet set. And Studio 54 was the capital of jet set

If it it had been in California it might have had a better chance of enjoying their patronage.

Yes, Carol Harris describes a party thrown at 54 in Fleetwood Mac's honor in 1978. She said that Fleetwood Mac felt out of place & wanted to get the hell out.
54 was a different scene from the Southern CA mega-rock stars.

I have found few Stevie pictures at Studio 54. One of them she was with Rod Stewart I guess. But I hadn't seen other members pics at that club. Until I found this (she is Sheryl Tiegs, isn't she?).
Has anybody seen any photos of Lindsey or John at Studio 54? By the way, that Christine black blouse...

Yes, Carol Ann Harris describes in great detail the members of Fleetwood Mac visiting the legendary Studio 54 after their show at Madison Square Garden during the Rumours tour.
Carol Ann describes the club as every bit as hedonistic as you imagine. She claims that she and Lindsey were miserable at the club and escaped to go back to the hotel. Its seems like she had a panic attack there (probably due to her excessive cocaine intake). Speaking of Carol Ann's book, I recently re-read it cover to cover. The first time I only skimmed. I'm not sure of Carol Ann's reliability as a narrator, she seems very melodramatic, even more so when you listen to the audio book. The book is hilarious, and these people were nuts in the 70s. |

Anybody who was anybody went to the club. It was not just for disco stars. Mick Jagger and most rock stars of that era were at the club along with Hollywood actors.
Mick looks sweaty and cokey. Chris looks great in red. I wonder if her wine glass is behind Cheryl's back

The urban legend said models mingled with mechanics, plumbers danced with princesses. I read that was, at least partially, true.

I could see Christine having fun in a regal environment. Lindsey, not so much. Not his scene.
