Default Stevie Does Redbeard Interview

Stevie Nicks In The Studio For Bella Donna 35th Anniversary

8/13/2016 11:30 AM ET RTT News

http://www.rttnews.com/2683115/stevi...niversary.aspx

Stevie Nicks has reentered the studio, for interview purposes.

The Fleetwood Mac vocalist joined In The Studio with Redbeard to celebrate the 35th anniversary of Bella Donna. The prolific songstress released her first solo record in 1981. Three top hits from the album include "Leather and Lace", "Edge of Seventeen", and famed duet with Tom Petty "Stop Draggin' My Heart Around."

The album reached number 1 on U.S charts and sold over 6 million copies.

Nicks revealed her thoughts on the anniversary of the record, as well as her recollections on "exactly what it was like to be twenty. I mean I was a cleaning lady, I was a waitress. I had problems." Nicks also goes on to describe the positives of her solo work, saying each time one [record] is released she is "convinced that the more honest I am with everybody, with what happens in my life and what has happened and what has gone on and how I've managed to get to this point and still have my sanity…the better."

The episode of In The Studio can be streamed on the official website.

Thanks for the heads up! Definitely will be checking it out, to hear what the "old gal" has to say.

I love her speaking voice... I swear it hasn't changed at all and it's so soothing and beautiful! I could listen to her just talk like this forever!

She talks a lot at the end about learning not to say unforgivable things out of anger... A lesson probably everyone can relate to. Makes me wonder how many of her relationships have been changed forever because of that.

It seems pretty recent based on the date it was released and constant promotion of the show's twitter and facebook, but there is no talk of any future plans. Stevie could have recorded this anytime.

Based on her voice and the things she talked about it seemed to me that this was recorded around the late eighties or early nineties. I didn't listen to the whole thing so I could be completely wrong, but she didn't sound like modern day Stevie and when she was talking about going why she went solo and she went into her "I need a vehicle for my songs" rant, she said she only got two songs on Tango in the Night, which seemed like the most random album to mention if this were recent.

You're right. If it was a recent interview, I highly doubt Stevie would know how many songs she had on TITN. I think Rumours is a lot fresher in her memory than Tango.

Yeah this interview doesn't sound recent to me either.

I also thought it was odd that she quoted/referenced three somewhat obscure songs from "The Other Side of the Mirror."

The OP says she did the interview to commemorate the 35th anniversary of the release of BD. So it should be from this year.

Yeah, I would put money on this recording of her being from 1989-94. It's definitely not a recent one.

It's a rehash of an OSOTM interview. I remember it from the first time around.
