Default A boy called Lindsey

kind of funny article on the bbc news site, doesn't actually mention our Lindsey, but it's about growing up as a boy with a girl's name.

Bedankt, maar in amerika schijnt het een vrij veel voorkomende jongensnaam te zijn of ben ik mis ?

Indeed... or like Chris, also a boy/girl name.

I've never met a male Lindsey/ay before. However, I know it can be spelled either way for either gender. I've met girls named Lindsey and Lindsay, and Walter Egan's middle name is Lindsay with an A.

The first time I met a female Lindsay, I thought she had a boys name.

and our Lindsey had curls too..I bet he did have a hard time in Middle School...he had a sport he was really good at though so that would have helped.

There is a student in my aftercare bunch at the Middle School where I tutor called Dylan-I feel so badly for him-he's small, has curly black hair and if you didn't know you'd think maybe he was a girl..Middle Schoolers are not known for tact or kindness..

Nice article - I was in third grade with a boy named Courtney and I remember thinking it strange - but he was a quiet lad and I don't recall anyone making fun of him.

I once had a theory, though, that males with "female names" were jerks....mostly because I had an evil EVIL band director named Leslie and I loathed him....but I've since met a couple of "female named" men who are quite lovely

There are countless names and nick names that can go for either gender. Here are some that I've come across, most of which I had always presumed were female names.

Renee
Lindsey
Alex
Stevie
Kim
Kerry
Mackenzie
Hunter
Jamie
Shannon
Leslie
Pat
Courtney
Jordan
Kelly
Addison
Adrian
Aidan
Corey
Michael (and no, I'm not kidding. I have heard of a woman named Michael)
Ashley
Aubrey
Bailey
Beverly
Blair
Brook
Cassidy
Chris
Jerry
Clair
Dale
Dana
Darcy
Devon
Page
Eden
Elisha
Evelyn
Taylor
Tracy
Sam
Val
Gale
Haley
Madison
Morgan
Paris
Quinn
Robin
Casey
Raven
Shelly
Skyler

I've probably forgotten a few. But I think that's most of the names I've heard of.

Would it be too much to hope she ends up starring in a film called "A Lesson"?
