[Hunter, with all due respect to Sir Paul, we still want to know about the meeting between you and Lindsey, thank you very much]
by Jane Stevenson, QMI Agency Canoe.com, July 28, 2014 http://jam.canoe.ca/Music/2014/07/28/21837226.html I heard you got props from Paul McCartney backstage after the Grammy Invisible performance? I saw him walking past and I wasn’t going to stop him. There were so many people around. I wanted to say something but I was like, ‘There was so much going on... If there’s another time, good Lord willing, I’ll be able to say hello.’ Sure enough, as soon as I made that decision, he made his way towards me. And he looked at me twice, sort of a double take kind of thing, walked over to me, and shook my hand, complimented the performance, complimented the song, and yeah just said a lot of really cool things. And ironically, I was standing outside of Lindsey Buckingham’s dressing room so I could say hello to him. So that was pretty friggin’ cool. |

[Excerpt from an interview with AC Newman of The New Pornographers]
The Gothamist, August 27, 2014 http://gothamist.com/2014/08/27/ac_n...nographers.php Didn't he put that album together mostly by himself? Yeah, Dave Fridmann mixed it, I believe. It definitely has that work of a crazy loner genius. There are lots of modern bands that I think are awesome, like MGMT. But most of our influences are pretty old. Most of the time we’re looking to classic rock. I’m actually shocked: when I look back at our entire career and I try and think of the most major influences on us, I really think they are ELO, Wings, and Lindsey Buckingham. “Champions of Red Wine,” made me feel like I was listening to an updated version of [Fleetwood Mac's] Mirage. Oh, really? That’s good. That’s a huge compliment. |

[From a Vox playlist of songs, 9-13/2014]
http://www.vox.com/2014/9/13/6141129...-this-playlist Get Ready to Go Out Tonight with This Playlist "Go Your Own Way" by Fleetwood Mac "Go Your Own Way" is Fleetwood Mac's most enduring song. It's not as rowdy as some of the other tracks on this list, but its cheery sound and Lindsey Buckingham's voice will keep you singing along if you start to fade. |

[Excerpt from interview where Joanne Shaw talks about LB, well thank you Dave Stewart]
Stereoboard, September 26, 2014 http://www.stereoboard.com/content/view/187471/9 What struck me about ‘The Dirty Truth’ is how the songwriting is the star and all your guitar playing serves the songs. It's certainly been a conscious effort on my part to improve the songwriting and I think that comes from Dave Stewart. When I was signed to him I'd been singing a little bit but mostly just playing a lot of solos. He said to me: ‘You can play the best guitar solo in the world, but if it's not in a good song no one's ever going to hear it.’ He got me listening to guys like Lindsey Buckingham from Fleetwood Mac - amazing guitar on Big Love and his solo live on Oh Well is probably one of the best versions I've ever heard. But they are encased in fantastic songs and they only add to the songs. I love a big guitar solo but sometimes you just don't need it, particularly for an album which is kind of like a snapshot. |

[From a piece on Claude Coleman Jr.'s new album about the Talking Sweet single.]
Anti Music 12/30/14 http://www.antimusic.com/news/14/Dec...eet_Ween.shtml I'm a big Lindsey Buckingham fan, and fingerpicky, gangly Buckingham guitar bits have ended up in all my songs since about forever. I had been playing the front end of the chorus on guitar for a while before any other part of the song was written. It was nice to play; the energy of it was sweet but kind beat up and sad. Originally, the tempo was twice as fast and I cut the track live with a band at this faster tempo. I experimented and brought it way back and found the pace there. It felt more stumbling to me, like the person in the tune and better matched the anger of the verses. It was less sun - more grease and dirt. Also, it fattened up Peter Kaufmann's drums. |

It's just a little manic! I remember watching it live on TV. The announcers were so excited in anticipation for Lindsey to perform the song - expecting to hear the happy and warm vibes of the sing-along song. Then Lindsey comes out with a barely recognizable version, full of angst and intensity. When it was over, the announcers were visibly in shock and somewhat speechless. All they could say was something like "Well that was different." It was very funny!

On Lindsey's Under the Skin tour, at the beginning of the tour, he'd come out and play Not Too Late very softly, a gentle opening of the evening. But by the end of the tour, he was screaming, yelping the verses. He just couldn't keep it in. Michele Last edited by michelej1; 12-31-2014 at 12:43 PM.. |

[Lots of We Are the World anniversary stories in the news, here's an excerpt about Lindsey]
Rolling Stone by Gavin Edwards, March 6, 2015 'We Are the World': A Minute-by-Minute Breakdown on Its 30th Anniversary Read more: http://www.rollingstone.com/music/fe...#ixzz3Tq8uHZw0 Follow us: @rollingstone on Twitter | RollingStone on Facebook 6:07 Hello, Lindsey Buckingham! In 1985, Fleetwood Mac was on hiatus (between 1982's Mirage and 1987's Tango in the Night); Buckingham had put out the modestly successful Go Insane solo album in 1984. He was one of the first artists to commit to show up, being a client of Kragen, but was consigned to the chorus. Buckingham says that one of his most enduring memories of the day was running into Michael Jackson in the bathroom: "It kind of freaked him out! He was quite nervous, just to be startled by someone walking in, and I just nodded my head."
