One step at a time...

This set is SO surprising, I think it will keep me "ok" for quite a while (just as the Vaudeville Years & Show Biz Blues sets have for the past three or tour years).

Hi Everyone,
I got my copy today and have just finished playing the two cd's.
(will watch the Dvd later)

Verdict:- Fantastic !!
I dont want to spoil it for you, but this box set is a real must have if you like the 'Kiln House' era lineup.
Highlights :- Well quite alot really, but I now know why they chose
'Madison Blues' as the title. Jeremy Spencer really does steal the show. Go straight to disc 2 and play LOUD. The band are 'ON FIRE'
with Jeremy leading the way. Just listen to his blistering version of 'Preaching Blues' together with the title track and 'Dust My Broom'. Also John's bass lines on track 2 'Purple Dancer' are truly awesome. We also get a NEW track from Danny called 'Open the Door' together with some great lead guitar on 'Station Man'.
Jeremy rounds it all up with 'Jailhouse Rock' and his Elvis impersonation sans 'Teenage Darling' and a rocking 'Honey Hush'.
Disc 1 also has some good tracks including 'Down at The Crown' and some solo Christine tracks with her band before she joined the Mac.
The notes, tracklisting etc, together with some nice photos not forgetting the discs come in a purple colour box which is really good value.
I look forward to other Ledge's reviews and verdicts on this important release.

P.S. I bet you all can't wait to get your mits on a copy !!

Blue Horizon.

This sounds like a great collection. Is the only way to get this in the states is ordering it from Amazon-UK? When I checked the site no track listing is listed.......I dont want to get the wrong cd...Help?

I think the best way for someone in the U.S. to order this is through Amazon U.K. The CD that you want is titled Madison Blues. There are 2 CDs. The release date is Oct. 20th and the record label is Shakedown Records. It says on Amazon's website that they only have one left in stock, but that more are on the way. There is another Fleetwood Mac CD titled Madison Blues Live. This is a different CD. This is the Peter Green line-up and was released back in the 1990's. I hope this helps.

Here's the link to the exact page on Amazon.co.uk for this item if it's of any help:

I completely agree with the previous comments about the
two CD release "Madison Blues"

Got mine today as well from Amazon.CO UK and it's as good
as I had hoped. I also haven't had a chance to watch the DVD
(96 minutes long!) interview with Jeremy yet

live and studio songs are great, Christine never sounded better

check out the 3 part harmony on Station Man!

WOW!

I am absolutely amazed by this disc as well. I really enjoy their take on the Elmore James stuff.
Also, does anyone know the exact date of the live performances?

Question

I know I'm just impatient and waiting for the arrival of my copy of this CD, but I'm starting to worry now as after hearing Denmeister99 say they got theirs (and Denmeister99 is further out west than where I am it looks like and since I assume Denmeister99's copy shipped the same time as all of ours (that ordered it from Amazon UK that is of course) in last Monday 10/21, I sure hope my copy hasn't gotten lost.

Naturally, I hope eveyone's copy is now safe in their hands but please say if you are in the US and haven't gotten your copy yet (and have ordered it) so I'll know I'm not alone. Thanks in advance.

John

Here's another rave review for this CD. I just got my box set yesterday and listened to it this afternoon. It's terrific!!! There are 4 Christine songs that I've never heard before, which are terrific, especially "Lonely Without You" & "Gone Into The Sun". And, "Get Like You Used To Be" is the best version I've ever heard of this song. Chris sounds great throughout both CDs. Danny's track, "Open The Door" is also terrific as is "Down At The Crown". Disc 1 belongs to Christine & Danny, while disc 2 belongs to Jeremy. I liked his Elvis parody near the end and "Honey Hush" is the perfect way to end the CD. The liner notes are also excellent, written by Martin Celmins. I haven't seen the DVD just yet, but surprisingly it's 96 minutes long. This box set was worth every penny, and then some.

Here's hoping that John gets his copy, SOON.

Just checking in to say I got my copy today. It was hell having to have to stop it after a few seconds of each song to make sure it worked (cuz they sounded so good!) but just wanted to say I got it and I can't wait to hear it in full later when I get some time.
