Thumbs up "Your little secret" albums

What albums do you LOVE that were not that artist's biggest hit?

I can name a lot, but I'm obsessing on Don Henley's first solo album: I Can't Stand Still. I've had it for years and go through huge obsession phases with it. I love the songs and the slightly under-produced sound. I Can't Stand Still, You Better Hang Up, and Long Way Home are favorites. The only thing missing is Stevie singing on one of the songs...I just can't decide which one! I so hear her singing "ashes to ashes and dust to dust" in Them And Us, but I don't know about the rest of the song.

I love Nirvana's Incesticide and Metallica's Master of Puppets. Master of Puppets was popular but not as much as their Black album. Also I really like Tom Petty's Hard Promises. There are a bunch of great songs on it including Insider.

"Quadrophenia" by The Who - My all time favorite album.
"Tunnel of Love" by Bruce Springsteen - Too amazing for words.
"Monster" by REM - Most people hated that they went harder but it's a really good album if you give it a chance.
"Here Come The Noisemakers" by Bruce Hornsby - Overlooked as one of the best live albums around.

Bette Midler- "Divine Madness" (Her medley of E. Street Shuffle/ Summertime/ Leader of the Pack is absolutely jaw-dropping!!)

Tina Turner- "Break Every Rule" (She just plain rocks)

Tom Petty- "Pack Up the Plantation: Live" (one of the best live albums)

Blondie- "No Exit" and "Curse of Blondie" (Something for everyone: garage rock, punk, jazz, country, rap, blues...)

Madonna- "American Life" (Cheesy as hell, but a very guilty pleasure)

David Bowie- "Heathen" (Next to Ziggy Stardust and Scary Monsters, it's his best album ever)

Bjork and others- "Dancer In the Dark" Soundtrack (Love, love, love, love it! Catherine Deneuve sings on it!)

Anything from Sly and the Family Stone!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I have a lot...

No Doubt- Return of Saturn (I know that it did sell pretty well, but it never lived up to the success of their third (I think) album Tragic Kingdom .)
FM- Mirage (I know that this one did well too, but it's not too popular amongst the fans.)
Blondie- Plastic Letters, The Hunter, and their first album, Blondie.
No Doubt- The Beacon Street Collection.

Let's get the FMac stuff out of the way:

Every pre-Mystery To Me album
Paris-first album and Big Towne, 2061
Danny Kirwan-Midnight In San Juan & Hello There Big Boy
Peter Green-In The Skies and Little Dreamer
Bob Weston-There's A Heaven
Mick Fleetwood's Zoo-I'm Not Me
Billy Burnette-self-titled album from 1980
Rick Vito-all of 'em

Ok, the rest of the world: (there are so many, but I'll just keep listing until I get a hand-cramp)

Jethro Tull-Songs From The Wood and Heavy Horses
Blue Oyster Cult-first album and Secret Treaties
Santana-Welcome
Carlos Santana-Havana Moon
Miles Davis-In A Silent Way, Filles De Killemanjaro, Miles Smiles
John Coltrane-Coltrane Plays The Blues, Coltrane & Ellington
Dwight Yoakam-Under The Covers (or the Europe release, La Croix D'Amour)
Rusty Weir-Stacked Deck (covers of "Don't Let Me Down Again", "Lola (My Love)" & "Think About It")
Billy Cobham-Spectrum 4
Mahavishnu Orchestra-Birds Of Fire
Souther, Hillman & Furay Band-first album
Stephen Stills' Manassas-first album
Neil Young-On The Beach
King Crimson-Red and Starless & Bible Black
UFO-Phenomenon
Alan Parsons Project-Tales Of Mystery & Imagination (his first album)
Robin Trower-Passion
Bryan Ferry-Boys & Girls
Roxy Music-Flesh & Blood (the album before Avalon)
Yoko Ono-her entire catalogue
The Pair Extraordinaire-Live In Buena Park (actually, it's my beautiful wife, Susan's album)
Bob Gibson & Hamilton Camp-Live At The Gate Of Horn (again, it's hers)

I could keep going, but we'd be here forever and I don't think there's that much bandwidth.
