Time: Your favorite songs, grouped by singer
I'm only doing this because Mick Fleetwood can potentially receive votes.

I didn't post this poll cause I don't even remember non-Christine songs, so it wouldn't be fair. But since the poll is here, I voted for Christine. Well they say it's not a fair world

Time.
The Fleetwood Mac album that I never had time to listen to. |

You are losing a good one! Of course my vote goes for Christine, as I like all her songs on this one |

So 2018 rolls around and there’s Stevie singing this song with Christine, and what do those people all think? Imagine someone like Mike Bise — who wouldn’t have listened to Time if his life depended on it. He must have had no idea what Stevie and Chris were singing. They were probably doing frenzied lyric searches on their phones. |

Plus, that’s the third song from that album I got to see live. |

I chose Christine’s songs because they’re all well-crafted and effectively sung. Her voice was in really fine form at this time. I don’t dig the tinny keyboard, but even with that layer of sound, a song like Hollywood shines.
But I have to admit: two of the Billy tunes are really, really good: Talkin’ to My Heart and Got It In for You. He sounds better on Time than anywhere on Mask. I credit Bekka for being the right vocal partner… |

I agree that McVie's voice was still in very fine form, and she delivered some very fine songs, with "I Do", "Nights in Estoril", and "All Over Again" being my favorites. |

That said, I wish he would have done a psychobilly song. |

There's enough angsty, occasionally experimental stuff on SYW maintain my interest 85% of the time and Stevie does at least bring some good songs to the project- I love her take on Smile at you- and John's bass work is great on that. Despite Christine's absence, I prefer it to Mirage and (just) Tango and I suspect I'm in a minority in that. |

I rescued only Christine songs from Time. And as WatchChain said in the Rumours forum, without Chris SYW became two solo albums loosely stitched together. So I said meh that year. And then it appeared BuckVie in 2017, which though I did miss Stevie there, I love it. |

I wish/hope Mick reforms The Zoo will Bekka, Billy, and Todd. I think there’s unfinished business with them, and those three work well together. |

Yeah, yeah, you blues guitarists stfu. I'm not talking about you. |

I really loved Bekka on this. Winds of Change and Dreaming the Dream. I also listened a lot to Christine's All Over Again.
|
Obviously, Christine's songs. But, I love Talkin to My Heart. My fav song with Sooner Or Later.

I'm surprised that "These Strange Times" hasn't been mentioned a lot here. Without Lucy Fleetwood's obnoxious whispering and the religious undertones, it would probably be one of the best songs on the album. But being one of the best songs on Time is like being one of the tallest kids in kindergarten. Half of the songs on this album are forgettable snoozers, particularly "Winds of Change" and "Dreamin' the Dream", which are some of the worst songs Fleetwood Mac has ever recorded. I'm aware that these are controversial takes.

Mask has boring instrumentation. Strip the good vocals off the tracks, and you basically have a Toto or a Cruzados album. Greg Ladanyi engineered some good albums — Building the Perfect Beast, The Envoy — but this isn’t one of them. It’s really drudged-up, charmless MOR. It’s music for spending a day at the water park. It might have been a little more interesting with the first choice of producers, Don Gehman? We’ll never know. |
