I think she's always known this, and knowing that FM is the bigger draw, I think that's one reason she's probably always tried to maintain that balance, and always tried to be respectful/gracious to the band. I think her actions going forward, will further reflect that, in my opinion.

When all is said and done, regardless of the reason why, she will probably record with Fleetwood Mac (which means I and other solo fans will miss any chance of a 24K Gold Tour
