I just listened to Fireflies for the first time.
What a beautiful song, now another one of my favorites from Stevie. It could have been a big hit, it should have been a song for Tusk.

I'm overwhelmed right now, as in the first time I heard Sara type of way. This song gives me chills. I had NO idea of their 1980 Live LP. Stevie's lyrics are absolutely beautiful and I feel this deep "nostalgia" a sadness, yet hopeful. Once again, Stevie managed to fortell the future through her songs. Thoughts flash at me as I listen, like a marriage that has been tumultuous, they have all stayed together, come and gone, but they're back now, it made me appreciate even more how precious Chris' return has been.
It's like a more Steviesque "The Chain," their anthem. Repeat, repeat, repeat

I always thought this would be a good song for Stevie to pull out for the new FM album and re-record...if she's not going to offer new/all-original material. It would be so fitting and wonderful and bring new light to an old song. That 1980 Live album recording is really great stuff.

Long nets of white cloud my memory but I think this song was a single and unfortunately was not a hit. I love this song.Still to this day one of my favorite blunders associated with this song was one of our Ledgies thinking Stevie sang: Everyone stays close to the fireplace.
