Default FM at Jones Beach June 22 2013

Anybody going to this show.It looks like JB survived Sandy,I can imagine how high the tides were at that time.I was at Stevie's show when the tides flooded the front sections out.As I remember Chris Isaak walked in the water singing and shaking hands.

Lets hope for good weather that night.

Default Jones Beach Theater repairs

I have a friend who works for Live Nation, who owns a share of the Jones Beach Theater along with some other entities, including New York State (as Jones Beach State Park). As the named sponsor and principal advertiser respectively, Nikon and Coca-Cola also put a lot of money into the venue.

The damage after Superstorm Sandy was extensive. Much of the the stage platform, amphitheater seating, backstage, green room, dressing rooms and public areas were essentially destroyed. Much work has been done to repair the whole area, and it is going to be ready for the summer, but most of the theater, as well as JBSP boardwalks, concession stands, bathhouses, parking lots, dunes and beaches were submerged and/or destroyed.

I'll be at the show if I can get a ticket.

They probably get the federal dollars to clean it up on time of the opening act.

I'm very surprised that the roof of the stage is still there.

The electrics got to be reworked on the first level area of the venue plus the concession area and the stage area.

I wish JB luck to back on the their feet for the upcoming season.

These photos remind me when the Grand Ole Opry got flooded out years back.I was so heartbroken when I seen those photos online.
