You're definately right about the B.B King/Elmore James thing.
Danny made his debut with the band in August of 1968. There was a session that was broadcast on Top Gear that aired in January where "Don't Be Cruel" was played. And then some others in April. So from August 1967 when they played the Windsor Jazz and Blues Festival, to January of 1968 would make it five months from when they started playing professionally to when we actually have documented proof of when he began to play that stuff.
