He's also made sick by the sight of his former bandmates in tuxes in Vegas. Eric Burdon of the Animals says of Jimi Hendri "It was a classic example of a true bluesman who was railroaded into being a pop personality and that's what killed him." And Mick Fleetwood, who would eventually be in one of the biggest bands of all time, remembers when Fleetwood Mac was a blues band and he was in "heaven" to be in Chicago with some of the old blues guys like Otis Spann, Willie Dixon and Honeyboy Edwards. I guess all the money and cocaine in the new Mac wasn't as good as heaven. |
