I read this the other night at 2 AM, then read it again because I was sure that I was missing something.

Back in August ...The Bass Magazine, reviewed David Ambrose’ book
..How to be a Rock Star..
I think he was a session man, who went in to work for a record company ??
The book is for sale on Amazon for £20.
And gets three great reviews

By this logic, the drummer for Fritz was the original drummer for Fleetwood Mac.
He should definitely write a book.

Fritz predate Fleetwood Mac, by one year,
Fritz 1966, Fleetwood Mac 1967.

If this guy that no one's ever heard of was FM's first bass player, they would have been called Fleetwood Amb.

I never understand why people assume that because they personally have "never heard of" a musician, they claim "that no one's ever heard of" that musician.
Dave Ambrose appears on "The Vaudeville Years of Fleetwood Mac: 1968 to 1970" on first 3 tracks under group name "Peter B's".
He was a member of at the time well known, Brian Auger & The Trinity/Julie Driscoll who had a big hit with Dylan's This Wheel's On Fire in 1968 and played on most of their early albums. At the time of rehearsing with Mick & Peter, joining the Brian Auger Trinity might have been a good choice given BAT/JD had established their reputation at the time. He also was a well regarded session man and had played bass for Steampacket. Check out discogs or All Music or read the book. PR tends to stretch credibility somewhat but to claim no one has heard of him is totally wrong.

Well, 'No one's ever heard of...' is a figure of speech. Fame is a relative concept. Everybody is somebody that somebody has heard of.
Perhaps it should read '...very, very, very few people have heard of'.

Or Aynsley Dunbar.

Pretty soon, Stan Webb will have been a member of the band.

Maybe it's true. Mick wrote the foreword for the book. It seems unlikely he would do that if there wasn't some truth to it.

Really?

Mick is a liar. He spins things in whatever way sounds the best FOR HIM. It's no wonder he and Stevie are close. Their pants are both on fire!

Where is my like button

Good grief, the guy who has been in one of the most successful bands in the world and sells for a handshake and photo next to his drums. NOTHING Mick does is for free.
