This release makes no sense after the Anthology box set recent release.

So it's already released as announced in his networks. I was listening it and have a question. Is the Soul Drifter Radio Remix an old one? I read it is a "remaster" so I understand it was released in the past, but I had never heard it before.

And I'm reading comments that the 2018 remasters sound better than these.

Yes, the radio remix was serviced to various adult contemporary radio stations in the US to my understanding. This mix was uploaded to YouTube around 2019, so it was not specifically made for the album.

I agree. And it’s over three years since he released “I Don’t Mind” and announced his new album and tour of 2021. What’s going on?

According to Stevies new interview in Mojo magazine, Lindsey isn't in great health.

Does she allude to what is the problem?

I just saw a snippet of the article on X. I did order it but don't have it yet. She said she doesn't think he can do a tour. Kind of sounds like maybe heart trouble or long Covid maybe. I am only guessing. So it sounds like they have been in touch.

Maybe she means what happened in 2019 with his heart.
Not directed at you but I doubt they are in touch. I don’t see Stevie as someone who would let something go. She wants to talk about how she supported him in the 70s but in my opinion, she doesn’t want to talk with him anymore.

I agree with this. I SERIOUSLY doubt that they're in touch. I think he'd be open to it, but don't think that she would be.

And she's so dumb, she probably thinks his heart episode was 6 months ago.

That is possible. She doesn't get dates or timelines right. Lol. This is supposed to be a new interview so I'm looking forward to reading it. Especially her thoughts on Lindsey. Wouldn't it be great if she told her side of the story on what happened with Lindsey. But we won't get that.

She's the George Costanza of rock and roll.

I’ve said she’s the Donald Trump of Fleetwood Mac but this works too. “It’s not a lie, if you believe it.”

I must say that I am really enjoying the remix of Soul Drifter, having not been previously familiar with it. This mix brings to front some different parts of the song that had been buried.

The keyboards get pushed reveal a synth string pad from the late 80's or early 90s. Could be from the Fairlight II, but sounds a little more like a Roland or Yamaha patch from that time.

The bass part which shares some lineage with Hall & Oates' "I Can't Go for That" has been mixed further up and gives the song a more prominent groove.

The layers of percussion tracks get a little more simplified giving more prominence to the programmed snare and then the weaves of live and machine percussion come in an out with less obvious markings.

Some of the plucked sounds from the collection of stringed instrument tracks become less dominant, and the music box twinkling guitar sound gets to stand alone in distinct parts.

I adore the original version of Soul Drifter, but having recently discovered this alternate version, I am getting to hear the song in a new way that is pleasing me greatly.
