Default Lord's Taverners Concert

I haven't been around. I hope this isn't something so terribly archaic that it has already been discussed in detail.

The critics panned Peter's Royal Albert Hall performance of March 15, 2004, but I quite liked it. I thought his playing was very laid back and jazzy, but with Mike Sanchez on Vocals, it was a really good fit.

I was hoping they would release the recording, but I guess that wasn't in the cards. They did record it. I found a triple CD copy of it with nice Sleeve etc. (Cover photo is Clapton on stage w/ his multi-coloured Strat). Sound quality is first rate, and was obviously taken off the Desk. At the time, I half assumed the Set may have been a Promo, but no Issue (that I know of) ever followed. I had asked around at the time, but couldn't find any information about it. My speculation changed, as I began to wonder if perhaps the Lord's Taverners had made a complimentary copy for each of the contributing Artists (as a thank you for their support to the Charity). To date, I have never seen another copy, which tends to support that theory. Does anyone out there know anything about this?

Again, my apologies if this is ancient history.

Looking forward to your responses. Cheers, Don

Hi Don,

I also have the show (but just a 3CD copy and no sleeve...), and I agree with you that Peter's playing is very tasteful!!

I'm sorry but I have no information about a possible release..

Peter also played with The British Blues Masters at Notodden Blues Festival in Norway, after the Royal Albert Hall show. Also there the reviews were not very kind. The show was supposed to be aired on Norwegian radio, but I've checked ever since, and nothing has ever come. And I haven't heard of bootlegs of that show. Anybody??

Daniel

Thanks, Daniel. I haven't been able to find anything from any of their Notodden performances either. I shall keep one ear to the ground.

Cheers, Don
