Thumbs up Sunny Side of Heaven

Yep, written by Mr. Danny Kirwan, Sunny Side of Heaven is an instrumental from Bare Trees, which is an EXCELLENT pre SnL album. It's the kind of song you listen to on a warm, breezy day, it's just a nice, cozy kind of instrumental. YAY Danny!

The instrumental version of Man Of The World is one of the most beautiful pieces of music I've ever heard.

But I love Stephanie as well. This Nearly Was Mine is a lovely piece as well, and coupled with Street Of Dreams may be my favourite Lindsey song(s) ever.

(I know he didn't write This Nearly Was Mine, but I love the way he does it)

Well we are talking Stephanie so I'm not going to comment on other instrumentals!

I thik Stephanie is beautiful and if I were Stevie I would play that everynight to go to sleep or something.

It wasn't written FOR her but I think it was written in the spirit of love.

I love how Lindsey says he asks Stevie what he should call the song and she goes " Stephanie" and he was like ok. His little accent is so cute as he comments on it.

But you aren't alone, I can't imagine anyone NOT loving this song. Doesn't he do it on PBS Soundstage??? Do I remember that correctly????? I have to see that.

Does anyone know the best way to obtain the Buckingham Nicks album via the internet, the best site etc? What is the max price I should expect to pay?

Thanks

Lorraine

The fabulous Nancy over at BuckinghamNicks.net has all of the songs available free of charge to download. Since the album is no longer in circulation, she's managed to put them all up for everyone to enjoy.

The album is indeed flawless and I *LOVE* Stephanie. I have to say though...Frozen Love gives me chills...I LOVE singing that song. IMO, Frozen Love...and the album in general... are truly some of the best vocals and music of ALL time. I think when they do re-release it (which i'm sure they will in time) people will fall in love with it. There's such an innocence to the album and it's incredibly pure. I can't rave about it enough!!

Well Chris, (don't mind do ya? .

I absolutly agree, with you.
When you define the song, you had to be hopessly in love writing something like this. Its sensitive, spiritual, you feel the gift of love. Perhaps this sounds a little ridicules, but i don't mind.
When you listen carefully, the Waddy Watchel slide guitar chorus gives you a floating feeling.
It can bring somebody to tears. This BN track always appaers in my favourite alltime greatest top 10.
The other tracks are,

Never going back again-FM (It's the 3 voices together)
Landslide-FM (My reborn moment in 1979)
Hotel California-Eagles (the 2 lines guitar solo)
Sausolito summernights-Diesel ( the Dutch drive)
Waterfall-Triumvirat (German beauty)
Whenever i call you friend-Kenny Loggins & Stevie ( dear me the power of that woman.)

All these tracks are for me the same as Stephanie. I hope that Polydor will release the album very soon on CD, i guess than we can enjoy the crispy sound of a "new"album again.
Perhaps this album will be re-discoverd again.
Lets hope and wait.

But i agree, Stephanie is one of the musical masterpieces from Lindsey.

Will

Aw, thanks, Marissa!

I adore "Stephanie" and think it's one of the most beautiful pieces of music Lindsey's ever written.

"Stephanie" is really beautiful and romantic.....

....AND how do we know it wasn't written while thoughts of Stevie danced in his head?

It probably was, she was certainly his lady love at the time, AND I think there must be a reason Stevie suggested her name be the title. Also, I don't think he would have agreed to the name if it wasn't. The way the song moves and sounds so breezy and free seems to epitomize that hippie-chick free spirit that is.... still to this day, Stevie.

I have heard him talk about how the song came to be named, and he gets this sly smile on his face when he says Stevie suggested it, and then he says, "So.... that's what it was".

The way he says it leads you to think that it is just very personal.

Just some trivia that most of us know already, but...

Stephanie went on to become the refrain in Eyes of the World;

and part of the distorted guitar solo in Frozen Love went on to form that in Go Your Own Way.

Has anyone found any other links back to BN?
