Yes, a remaster of Heroes would be great. The muddy sound retracts from the listening experience somewhat.
If you were to ask me, I would rename the three "Rumours" forums as: The Early Years The "Classic" Years (note the quotation marks) The Later Years

I like the "Early Years" approach (though actually it's the Post-Rumours heading that is the MOST confusing, but I digress).
For me, splitting between Green's Mac and Welch's neglects the two-albums leadership by Danny Kirwan, which I prefer to both the Green and Welch-led manifestations of the band.

I'm confused as to why everything has to be in relation to Rumours in the first place (technically speaking, their first album with that lineup was the 1975 one, which makes it more so )

Because it's one of the top ten best selling albums of all time. It kind of defines Fleetwood Mac in general (no matter how much some of us wish it wasn't so), and that particular line-up specifically.

Fleetwood Mac
isn't it also true that the first Buckingham/Nicks album with the group was called "Fleetwood Mac"?
It is also true that there has been a lot of posting on that thread regarding "rumors" Also if I am not mistaken, one of the treads from Bob Welch himself was his own impressions of Peter Green. He was less than charitable in his assessment of Peter. In my mind having them lumped together has always been a case of "strange bedfellows" doodyhead Last edited by doodyhead; 09-02-2013 at 01:37 PM.. Reason: claification |

Love the new title! Much better and less patronizing than "Pre-Rumours", that's for sure.

Ok, late to the debate, but then when am I NOT?
Yes, me likey the name change, but I think it is a start. There was quite a bit of change between the departure of Jeremy Spencer and the arrival of Bob Welch. I could see "The Early Years" being pared down to 1967-1971 (ending with the departure of Jeremy Spencer). I can also envision an additional Forum encapsulating Late '71-74, for the arrival of both Bob Welch & Christine (officially on Future Games) thru the Dave Walker & Bob Weston albums up to Bob Welch's departure after Heroes Are Hard To Find.

chiliD, check out my reply #12. We basically agree on this topic. This era is really two, perhaps even three eras if you include the Post-Green, Pre-Welch/Christine Kiln House.
