Well my first temporary obsession was with New Kids on the Block lol...

then:

Debbie Gibson
Belinda Carlisle

later when I started liking non-sucky music

The Doors
Live
Space Hogs
Smashing Pumpkins
Soul Asylum
Green Day

--the above are bands I still like - but only two bands now hold the obsession in me - they are FM and The Beatles

That's my absolute favorite part of the song for real, it's the part of the song that to me ssaves the song.

I never became obsessed with whole bands, just songs.
I loved Simon and Garf when i was young, I was obsessed a bit with Jefferson Airplane, but just their songs. I basically like everything now that i liked then, but with more stuff added. I was obsessed with the song Candle in the Wind (live) during my Marilyn obsession, also Bette Davis Eyes and Celluloid Heroes...
I always really loved lots of Heart songs, CCR songs...
never really a full blown obsession, though...
Although when i heard Stand Back and Seven Wonders, i was obsessed with both those songs for a brief period...My mom says i was obsessed with GDW when i was 3, but i'm not sure if that counts...I always loved Cyndi Lauper, too. And i really liked my Bonnie Tyler tape i got when i was 8...still do.
Mostly i was always obsessed with actors and actresses instead...

I really haven't been obsessed with bands, other than FM.
Omigod, that's weird, I *love* that album extra special much!
It makes me happy, it makes me dance around, it makes my butt move...
Just suprised, is all...

Wham when I was about 9, for a couple of years.

Then, Bon Jovi, from 12 til 15 or so.

No real obsessions after that until Mac & Stevie, starting in 97 with The Dance. Still going strong! I really don't think that this one will fade either.

I thought that with as much as I listened to FM, there HAD to come a time when I'd get my fill of them (as I had other bands) and move on. Maybe pulling out one of my FM CDs on very rare occasions.

But it never happened.
Same, and it's been a loooong time. Now I don't see that ever happening. It is a possibility but I don't see it right now.

When I was in Elementary School, I was OBSESSED with Duran Duran. Besides Fleetwood Mac, that has to be my biggest band obsession to date.

I've never really had any band obsessions as big as this one. But I was obsessed with the TV show Cheers and actress Shelley Long for about 3 years and then I had little obsessions with Cher and Blondie for a while, and then it blew into the whole HUGE FM/Stevie thing

The only other real music obsession I have started when I was eight and still goes on, it's for an Italian singer/songwriter, Francesco De Gregori.

That was the first album I had (well, actually my dad bought me & my bro Styx Mr. Roboto first, but we had to share, so it doesn't count!) I loved them, then brother dear scratched it, so mom got me Wham on cassette. I, too, still remember most songs. Freedom was my favorite!

There will always be a soft spot in my heart for Careless Whisper - I still remember my sister and her best friend having a discussion as to whether dancing really meant something else Ah - the many depth levels of Wham!
