My thoughts exactly, Pip. Except.. about Australia, oddly enough

But my theory is - Next time!

Um, can someone who actually heard this interview clarify.... Mick said Lindsey would be putting out a solo album?! That doesn't sound right at all.

That sounds ERNORMOUSLY right!!

I fantasized: maybe he'll put out the unused gift of screws-songs combined with cuts from his Soundstage/Chicago performance....

I am excited about the setlist changes but I would have loved to see SOTM!! I wonder who did not want to do it? Stevie? Lindsey?

Well anyway I really can't wait for May 8th now!!

Gerald, that has been one of my ongoing fantasies for a few months.

But at the risk of being a party pooper, keep in mind the source: Very little of what Mick says ever comes to fruition. If we hear from Lindsey's mouth that he is going to release his solo material, that will be more credible.

Lindsey has a wonderful opportunity to get his unused solo songs out even if he doesn't do an album. His management should get in touch with Apple and release the songs through iTunes. He could do a song a week for a few months. That would be exciting.

I got to ask Mick a question!!

I was the guy who told him who Christine's new record company was and who asked about the solo or new mac cd's after all this is over.

Oh yeah....I mentioned I had been to 16 shows (he was very appreciative).

Does anyone know who the girl is that he said was going to just about every show, hung out at the hotel bars with them, etc?

Question You guys surprise me!

I feel like I'm the only one who was hanging out for a new Fleetwood Mac album! lol

Solo albums? Solo tours? It's the same old story since after Tusk. Another 5 years? These guys don't have 5 years to spare! The only rationale I can pull from this (IMO) bad news is that Stevie must have a solo album obligation, and since that will take time and Lindsey wants to work together with her on the next FM project, he will be able to 'offload' the GOS/SYW backlog in a solo project of his own (a solo album coming about 10 years after the first track was laid!), thus leaving something of a clean slate for material to go on the next FM album. I *hope* that their is a rationale along these lines and they're not just 'falling back into the cycle', if you will, of indulging in solo ventures followed by eternally delayed and 'mixed-bag' FM releases.

Given everything that Mick, Lindsey, and also Stevie, have said, in the DR doco etc, about the future of FM, I hope/assume that this solo 'deviation' is a one-off for (a) Stevie to honour her solo commitments (what was it - about 2 more albums incl TISL?), and (b) for Lindsey to finally get all the officially unreleased stuff from after OOTC out of the FM equation and into our CD-drives/iPods.

Meanwhile, I can console myself that whatever Lindsey puts out will be largely 'Fleetwood Mac' in my eyes... take 'Down On Rodeo' for instance. If that's not the Mick and Lindsey chemistry of Fleetwood Mac then what is.

*gets cynical*

So they'll replace a few songs in the setlist. Then they'll tour for most of the year without any changes. By the end of it we'll all be complaining again.

(Ok, this gave me some hope anyway.)

If that's true, then should we really believe that these songs will be added to the setlist? I'm hoping, of course, they will be, but I guess we'll have to wait and see....

I don't believe anything Mick says. It's better that way.

I was thinking that. That stinks for you guys, especially since the new stuff won't make it on the video/DVD either if it's from the Boston shows.
Hey, come down to Texas & I'll drive you to the show here. (BTW, it's up to you to get us two front row seats. )
