In Gypsy i thought the line went...
"Well you know that it just rained lightning strikes maybe once maybe twice"
Were it actually goes...
"Well you know that it does. Well lightning strikes maybe once maybe twice"

It made sense to me

Dreams:

"Well, it's only me... The world's too wrapped around your dreams"
Well, it's only me who wants to wrap around your dreams"

Bella Donna:

"And the woman be some hustler, and the woman may truly care"
And the woman be so awestruck, and the woman may truly care

Casually walking to school today when I was stopped in my tracks by Liddy's hauntingly futuristic lyrics to The Ledge...
'Writing it on Facebook, posting it online'

(No, ears, it's Buy another fixture, tell another lie )

Bella Donna:

"And the woman may be so lonesome, and the woman may truly care."
And the woman may be so awestruck, and the woman may truly care.

oh look at me, shamelessly bumping my own thread=

today i was singing "Love Will Show Us How" in the shower, and sang:

"...and so we break our vows." - it's not funny, but i was laughing so hard at my own mistake that i slipped in the shower!

When I first heard the Fritz song 'Louisa Joy', I thought he was saying 'The Wings of Joy'.

I always thought it was 'so alone' or 'so lonely'.

I still think, in Stand Back, it sounds like Stevie is saying "Black or yellow, I can bend!"

In the song 'Real Tears' many people hear "an always hanging mirror." An always misconstrued lyric!

I don't understand that, except for the fact that "mirror' is in Stevie's venacular. That assumed line makes no sense, even within her strange range of phrasing.

If you considered the context around the phrase you can figure it out.

"Through the rain and the fog....and an always hanging MIST!"

Weather conditions: Rain. Fog. Mist. Mirrors???

I've always heard it as 'and her always hanging mirrors'.

Stevie writes a lot in her bathroom. Rain= shower, fog= fog on your mirror after a hot shower, mirror= bathroom mirror. She goes around the country and world touring, "walking a thousand miles in a few weeks." But when she goes home, very little love exists there. As she is writing this in the bathroom she finds herself alone in this mirror, she is haunted in her mirror, because even thru the "rain" and the "fog", her mirror still hangs there showing her that she's the only one in the mirror, that she is alone. And this is when she cries "real tears". Or you could look at it from the perspective of this song being about drug rehab. There was very little love in the rain and the fog= her drug addiction. And her always hanging mirrors is the being constantly forced to look at herself and inside of herself in rehab to understand her addiction. And since she is constantly looking at herself, it is overwhelming and still burdensome and, but she is noticing "there was another girl, she was much like you" which is her starting to see in her the girl she was before the drugs.

I honestly can't make out what she says, mists or mirrors, but I do believe Stevie is such a beautifully insane poet that "mirrors" could definitely make sense to her.
