Default Rolling Stone mentions Lindsey

In its review for the Elizabethtown soundtrack, Rolling Stone said, "Standout Track: Lindsey Buckingham or Fleetwood Mac's hushed yet heated "Shut Us Down."

ZOMG!!!

Talking

Yeah but Rolling Stone write A HELLUVA lot of fluff.

Although, I AM a Lindsey-fan...so I can't say it's terrible. But definitely not the standout track on the album. The two Petty tunes are better.

The petty songs are great, but they are what you can expect of a Petty in good shape. Lindsey's Track is something else: It's challenging, gutsy, filmish, and it breathes utter beauty. It's not a track that aims for "effect". It askes questions to the listener, and if you're open for them, it sucks you in. That track is a standout: not alone on this soundtrack, but in his career.

What?! No way. His vocal could've been way better. That's a pretty bold statement you're making. You got balls, though.

Well thanks for the balls and stuff but I just try to pronounce what hits me in the song. I did that before and now, weeks later the thing is still fascinating me. Those melodyliness are gorgeous. Vocal could have been ten times better technically, but I'm glad he did not think so himself; I love it.

That's just my opinion about it....I'm looking at it as a solo Buck track. If I heard it on his album I could probably keep complaining, however I'm sure it works for its moment in the film.....and that's all that really matters.

I love Shut Us Down. I think its a very beautiful song and my favorite on that album, along with Square One by Tom Petty. I agree with RS for once...
