Default Whose singing voice would you want?

List ten rock singers whose singing voices make you wish you sounded just like that. Keep it to rock, otherwise everyone will be showing off pretentiously by listing Harve Presnell or Ileana Cotrubas. So whose singing voice would you want?

1. Peter Gabriel
2. Van Morrison
3. Brian Setzer
4. Smokey Robinson
5. Roland Orzabal
6. Eddie LeVert
7. Holly Johnson
8. Maurice White
9. Paul McCartney
10. Howard Scott

I agree - but mine can sound soooo trained so.....

I LOVE Michael Stipe. His voice is so raw and his pain is apparent.

I also LOVE James Taylor - though his range is non-existent IMO.

Finally - Axel Rose - he can just deliver with a vengence.

There are really so many though - and all mentioned are superb.

Default voice envy

I already sound Like Stevie Nicks (true! same range and huskiness)
Janis Joplin (the female version of Axel Rose)
Judy Garland (I know she's not rock but everyone knows who she is)
Ann/Nancy Wilson from Heart (does that count as 2?)
Steve Perry (awesome set of pipes he's got!)
Freddie Mercury (same here!)
Meat Loaf
Grace Slick
and just for ****s and giggles: GENE SIMMONS!

It sounds as odd coming out of John Lennon thought Lux, so give it a go.

Emmylou Harris--she's got the voice of an angel
Joni Mitchell--back in the day before too many cigarettes took their toll
Stevie--well, I just want to be Stevie. Does that count?

I can do a mean Judy, Pip.

Voices I'd like in no particular order...

1. David Bowie (he can sing anything and make it sound good)
2. Deborah Harry (so rich and full, a powerful instrument)
3. Alex Kapranos (sexy as all get out, I'd turn myself on by just singing a note)
4. Cyndi Lauper (four octaves, need I say more?)
5. Iggy Pop (love his voice, always have)
6. Aimee Mann (gives Stevie a run for her money when it comes to having an expressive voice)
7. Bobby Womack (just so I could sing Across 110th Street)
8. Chrissie Hynde (yummmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm)
9. Michael Stipe (one of the greatest vocalists)
10. Annie Lennox (beautiful voice)
