Default Best Self-Help Books

I am always interested in finding new books to recommend to my family law clients. Can anyone recommend any specific books? As you can imagine, I deal with everything from alcoholism to physical abuse.

There are a few that I usually recommend to clients:

Co-Dependent No More
Verbal Abuse - How to Recognize it and Respond
Boundaries - Where You End and I Begin

Anyone care to recommend others?

I have a book I got about 15 years ago. I’ll have to dig it out of the closet. I think it was called “Drunkards Warfare”. No joke.

For women who habitually ignore their own needs and remain excessively loyal to bad or unhealthy men, Women Who Love too Much is a great book.
One I just heard of, The Emotional Incest Syndrome by Patricia Love seems very good. I'll do a bit of research if I get a chance and recommend some others.

They are a bit old now, but John Bradshaw's books have been invaluable to me. There is a lot of stuff I took for granted as being normal in a family until I read that series of books=:-)

I totally think there IS something to all the "inner child" healing stuff...
I also like the "7 (or is it 10?) Habits of Highly Effective People"
Deepok Chopra and yes I admit it Anthony Robbins.
The Road Less Travelled has some decent points in it.
Also Paramhamsa Yogananda books...
Also, believe it or not I, think there are some concepts in Scientology that are
useful.
There are also some concepts it Buddhism books that I've found cool.
Oh yeah and The Bible.

Anything by Melody Beattie is good. I also like Dr. Wayne Dyer.

Yes, she is good. She has a daily reader for the codependent that is really good. Those books are great cuz you only have to read a page a day and by the end of the year you know so much more!
