Arrow Why (live 1974)

During this brief and crazy tour of 1974 Chris samples Come A Little Bit Closer in the beginning of Why. Instead of the slide guitar opening, Chris does her own intro and she samples Come A Little Bit Closer.

Come A Little Bit Closer has always been one of my favorites. Heroes is one also one of my favorite albums. You know Rolling Stone loved the album: "stacked up as a pleasant album", and singled out "Prove Your Love" as "exquisitely pretty" and "Come a Little Bit Closer" as "a gorgeous tune reminiscent of the Beach Boys"
While others hated the use of a string synthesizer and "half assed horns."
I love that they opened with Bob's psychedelic "Coming Home" on that tour. Chris only did one song from the new album then "Bad Loser" I suppose her sneaking in parts of Come A Little Bit Closer was her idea if Welch could not do the same slide guitar as Weston.

Notice that Lindsey only played slide very early on. Slide guitar is harder than regular guitar. Especially while/if you're singing. For best results, you almost need to be a dedicated guitar player(non singer).
Great slide players are rare. Remember Bob Seger's Like A Rock? That's our own Rick Vito on that.
