Aw, that's an illusion ruined, Homer! Seriously, it makes sense though, and good of them to go to the trouble as aesthetically, having Christine at at least appear to be playing on a grand at the end of the show hits the right notes. It wouldn't have had quite the same emotional appeal otherwise.

I can't be the only one who noticed on Hell Freezes Over(1994- how TF is that THIRTY YEARS AGO?), that their grand piano had buttons and displays clearly visible.

And many lower tier acts now carry an upright piano(CASE). They think it looks hip carrying that around, pretending they're playing a real piano.

By the way, THERE IS NO SANTA CLAUS.
