Default Uncut Magazine: Tango-era violence??

I was pretty surprised about the first paragraph of the Uncut Magazine article. I had read about this supposed fight between Lindsey and the band in Mick Fleetwood's autobiography, but I thought that Mick later explained that it was blown out of proportion in his book. I remember being shocked that Lindsey pushed Stevie over the car and slapped her. It just seems weird that this story comes up again, almost exactly as it was told in Mick Fleetwood's biography.

That was one knock-out, drag-out fight! Stevie said that she and Lindsey were chasing each other up and down Christine's long driveway and that they were hitting each other. When he hit her, she screamed at him and swore at him, then told him if she didn't kill him, her father and her brother would. She also said that she's not a frightening person, but she can be vicious. I just couldn't believe Lindsey hit her, I still can't. I think it was the same night that Stevie bitched about barely being on TITN and Christine bitched her out. Then John told Lindsey to leave and he left the band. But what John meant was to leave the room!

Default Hmm.

From what I've gathered it was more than that. A certain amount of strangulation may have occured allegedly, don't know from who though.

I was surprised by that, too. At least he tried to justify it later by saying it was the result of the entire band abandoning Lindsey to do Tango in the Night all by himself.

I don't really think either extreme is 100% true.

I don't know. Have you seen the BBC Rock Family documentary about the Mac from '94? Stevie came right out and said it got EXTREMELY ugly, but only told us surface information. I think a LOT went down in that house on that night. A lot. LOL

Unhappy This will make me look like a jerk, but oh well...

What if Stevie was high that particular day and she attacked Lindsey first when he said he didn't want to tour and stuff? Maybe he hit her AFTER she hit him? I dunno. Just a thought...

Lindsey pushed Stevie against a car and slapped her, but he MIGHT have done it because she was being crazy or something, trying to calm her down?

I'm not saying he was right in hitting her, I'm just wondering what caused this man who is most definitely NOT a violent person to hit Stevie.

I think it is only fair to assume that they all had a part in what happend.Everyone loses it now and then..Stevie is not a saint, nor is Lindsey...when you are pissed off,you are pissed off.If he did hit her, that's not too cool..but who is to say she didn't instigate it somewhat..I am sure if he really wanted to hurt her he would have done alot more than slap her,you know? Bottom line,s**t happens. These people led crazy-ass lives...so you really can't be surprised when you hear stuff like this.

As far as I know, and from what Stevie herself said, she was the one who attacked first. She said she just flew off the couch and attacked him. Hope this puts your mind at ease, Christy!

But...I just can't picture Stevie getting soooooo out of control where someone would have to hit her to calm her down. And I don't think she was high because she had already been to Betty Ford and was into the whole presciption drug thing.

Ah, the crazy past of Fleetwood Mac!

Default hmmm

I'm with Christy on this one. Stevie was pretty coked out during that time if I remember correctly. Maybe Stevie deserved a good crack in the mouth!

LOL

Thumbs down I read the article...

and wondered do we really need to hear the story YET again of Lindsey & Stevie and their lil' fight?

I know I'm in the minority on this subject, but I don't care what happened back then...The only thing I care to hear is what happening now...Brian J.

Default ok - well point taken

Well, I may be wrong about the coke time frame - and thanks for the correction guys. But then that brings up another very salient point; early recovery. It can be worse than the active addiction itself for the person trying to clean up. In fact, a person can actually act quite insane during that time. Just another interesting bit of speculation. Maybe Stevie really "freaked" out in an early recovery episode. What makes this type of thing so difficult is that the person is suddenly forced to deal with all those things that they had been escaping from while active in the addiction.

So I'm going to stick to my original statement, if anything, because it will tweak a lot of people on this board:
"Maybe Stevie deserved a good crack in the mouth"

rofl!! - just trying to stir things up a bit

take care friends

Cool LOL

David, don't hold back next time.

I'm agreeing with ya tho....she was probably a lil wacked out on recovering and the prescription drugs too probably had a toll, plus, stress too can make one really crazy.

I'm not DEFENDING Lindsey's actions, I'm just wondering, like you guys, what the heck really happened?

Brian has a good point too tho...that was the past...we've ALL done stupid stuff and...in the words of Lindsey...

THIS IS THE TIME (to concentrate on!!)!!!!

APRIL 15th is so close, I can SMELL it!!
