Default Say You Will album- Winners Battle

Ledgies, here is the last album battle in the "Battle of the Songs." Real simple... Steal Your Heart Away vs Thrown Down.

Poll closes in 3 days on Thursday.

Phase 2 of the "Battle of the Songs" begins Friday, Dec 3rd. Should get very interesting when the winners begin fighting for survival. Hopefully, all us Ledgies can survive!

This might be the toughest choice yet.

It was a surprisingly easy choice for me. Steal Your Heart Away just holds more resonance with me. Thrown Down just doesn't have a chorus that agrees with me. The lyrics are great, but it's too low key for my personal taste.

Default Predictions...

Well, about a week ago before separate SYW battles started, I predicted in another thread that, based on the Rumours-era battle trends so far, Thrown Down will win the SYW poll.

I hope I'm proven wrong... Lindsey had too many strong songs on SYW imo (possibly reflected in his evenly divided poll results - 5 songs between 5 and 7 votes, SYHA winning with only 13). In Stevie's poll TD annihilated all other songs with 27 votes (runner-up EFO getting only third of that).

I was one of the people having hard time deciding on the song I like best from Lindsey's while the only song I really like of Stevie's is Destiny Rules - and that one hardly got any votes, being everybody's 3rd choice, it seems. So, in the absence of DR, and since there are only two Lindsey's songs I don't like from SYW (WTWCT and Say Goodbye), there is no competition for me - SYHA it is!

Plus, although I think TD is typical and cute song in the manner of some Mac songs of the past (opening reminds me of Tusk documentary, Ken Caillait and Richard Dashut working on songs), hearing it played at Home Depot for some reason really ruined it for me...

Thrown Down is a great song, but completely average compared to Illlume, Running Through The Garden, and Everybody Finds Out, all of which have a radical sound imo. Same with Steal Your Heart Away, which is poppy fluff. I think Murrow is one of the greatest FM songs ever, and that and Illume really are the stand out tracks from this album, too bad neither got picked.

You forgot to mention your favorite track: Silver Threads And Golden Needles.

I agree with absolutely everything you said here... but that's not surprising . I wish you could have been old enough to go to Say You Will concerts with me to hear such songs and Murrow and Come live... they were just so epic.

I am actually a little surprised the Ledgies went for more middle of the road tracks for their favs vs the more edgy songs on Say You Will, though.

Murrow was never performed live.

Yes it was! Only a handful of times, but it had a very Come-like guitar solo

Ooh, difficult. I lovelovelove both of these songs. However, in the end, Stevie fantardism won over.

Does Stevie sing any of her songs anymore?
Sing is the key word here. Anyone?

You didn't even need to ask this question

Do we have any live recordings to prove this?

There is Murrow live on Lindsey's Soundstage too. Don't know how similar/different it is from the full Mac SYW tour version, but it was filmed some time in 2004 i think.
