Round 1 Eliminations: Heroes are Hard to Find (Part 1)
This is the ninth poll for the Fleetwood Mac Song Contest (1970-1974), which is the first half of the Heroes are Hard to Find album. I changed the post title to "Eliminations" to make things clearer.
***Reminder that you will vote for which songs should not be included in the definitive list of songs for this era.*** Poll closes in 4 days.

I didn't vote against it. But the Sausalito version of it is so much better than the studio version! His voice sounds freer and less nasal, and the the band opens up a lot more.

True, the live version kicks butt, but the congas & acoustic guitar of the studio version has that eerie-ness that makes the hairs on the neck stand up. If you listen closely with headphones or earbuds, you CAN hear Christine's piano part on the studio version when the entire band kicks in. It's the same as the live verson.
What really is cool is that when I first heard "Coming Home", I thought, "Wow, they'll never be able to play this one live"...then when I saw them when they filmed the Don Kirshner's Rock Concert episode, that's what they opened with...sounded just like the albums version except with a little extra punch of adrenaline. Back when they didn't really care about "recreating the recorded version note-for-not" for their live shows, they came up with some really great live versions of songs you'd never expect them to be able to recreate on stage. Now, it's "we gotta hire some people to play ALL the parts on the record". Yawn.

I wouldn't think so, since they were doing it when she was there.
Of course, we might get two pared back songs: Songbird and an equivalent to SYLM (a song that they would do with just the five of them, like they did with SYLM in 1997), but that's all I would expect -- well maybe Farmer's Daughter again. Michele |

So little love for "She's Changing Me"? It's one of my favorites!
