I can understand Christine getting rid of stuff. She comes across as completely unsentimental most of the time, and maybe there are some tax considerations for liquidating your estate while alive. But the shonky and shameless idea of selling off a bunch of random crap with "a portion" of the proceeds going to charity has the name Mick Fleecewood all over it. I imagine that whoever places the winning bid on Christine's historic baby grand will open the lid to find a one-month trial subscription to Fleetwood's Coffee Beans taped to the keys.
Very funny! If the coffee beans are in fact included, I may actually purchase the baby grand. But I really don’t get the hate by some folks- as you yourself said, it’s just “a bunch of random crap.” I get rid of my crap by donating it to Good Will, but only because I can’t get anyone to bid on it!

Same thing about Christine- of all of the members, she is the least sentimental. Frankly, I’m stunned she still has that dress from the back of the Rumours cover. A pack rat who keeps mementos of their tours, photo shoots, recordings, and clothing and accessories would seem to describe Stevie, not Christine.

I wonder how much the cutout board of John would fetch? I admit I’m curious to see how well those items do sell, but I don’t mind they’re doing this. I’m sure they talked it over with their families and the survivors of their estate don’t want them, so why not sell them? They get money and folks who pay that much will certainly take care of the items in question. It’s not like someone’s gonna buy those awards so they can be melted for scrap. I’m getting a sense of “I already hate Mick so now I can add this to the list of reasons why I hate him.”

Anybody notice in the Billboard article it mentions Lindsey as a member of Fleetwood Mac and doesn't mention Mike or Neil?

"The two other members of the celebrated quintet — Lindsey Buckingham and Stevie Nicks — are not involved with the auction."

Since this thread was announcing the auction, Micks RRHOF award sold for $16k which included a magazine with photos of the band with the award. It sold for average estimated worth. I still cant believe he sold it. Regardless of what you think of the Hall of Fame, its an exclusive club. Is Mick the only one that sold his award? I am sure he spent the $16k by now.

My view on Mick is this: Without him, we would have missed out on a lot of great shows and music. And that's the bottom line. I love MIck.

I don't love Mick but you are right. And probably he was behind the reissues with alternate versions that I do love.

I wouldn't sell an award, but he is free to do what he wants.

It's absolutely TRASHY for him to sell his award. But that's what Mick is. TRASH.

My point is that people sell stuff all the time, costumes, autographs, instruments, etc.
I can see selling small awards like maybe "best video" or something. Each year there are big fights on who gets snubbed or inducted into the RRHOF. It was a major honor for the band in 1998. I would think this is the one thing you would want to hold on to like a Grammy. How about donating it to some Hard Rock somewhere. For the price he got for that award is about what he earned during one of his meet and greets. That's pathetic even for him. Would you not want it on your shelf next to your Grammy? He can make $16k meeting fans anytime. But you only get this once in life. If I was part of the hall, I would revoke it from him

Not hatred of the man... just eyerolling derision at the things he does and says.

How could anyone sell their RRHOF award for cash and not exclusively for charity? That's a first for rock. It's pathetic to sell it. I applaud Stevie and Lindsey for not taking part.
"By Grabthar's Hammond... Oh, what a savings!"

The good news is that you'll be able to sate your curiosity, bwboy--the auction will be livestreamed on the auction house website!

Here are some last minute additions to the auction:

- The cardboard cut out of John that was featured in the Tusk video, which John was unable to attend due to prior commitments.

- The actual microphone Dave Mason used to record Time, which he lovingly gifted to Christine.

- The RV which Lindsey bought so Mick’s drug dealer could live on his property during the recording of Tango in the Night.

- The necklace Christine wore during the recording of Rumours, which contained her daily ration of cocaine.

Up next: Biddy's Britches - only worn once

Credit: Homer - he predicted it.

Seriously if you are selling your RRHOF award for personal profit you have hit rock bottom and nothing is beneath you. How long before we see feces in a jar?

It already exists. He has an exclusive "dark roast" as part of his new line of coffee.

I told you! Mick is absolutely SHAMELESS.
