Default Rumours Getting Released On Blu-Ray

It was bound to happen: https://store.rhino.com/en/rhino-sto...497827336.html

Also it appears that it's a Rhino Exclusive, at least for the time being: https://www.blu-ray.com/movies/Fleet...lu-ray/361199/

Yes, another version... It is worth it if you can listen in Dolby Atmos. Literal chills up the back of my neck during Gold Dust Woman when Stevie's voice started moving around behind me and thru me. The solo on The Chain was also pretty amazing. I thought the whole effort was better than the previous 5.1 they released all those years ago.

Is there a Guinness record for the largest number of re issues, expanded, deluxe, album+bonus tracks new format (vynil/CD/DVD audio/Blu Ray audio/cassette/8-track cart/Reel-to-reel audio taperidge/etc etc..)???

I think Rumours would win it. I don't remember other album with so many reissues in any format. I've read in the past of re issues or special editions of best selling albums (Thriller, Dark Side of the Moon, The Bodyguard), but not so many as Rumours.

I agree. The lossless dolby atmos is amazing. Christine's new re-master is enchanting to my ears on this format.

I guess that the HD mixes will be new and not ported over from one of the umpteen other mixes.

How many times can you remix Rumours? You reach a point where the person doing the mixing is essentially replicating previous mixes. I guess the Dolby Atmos can sound great if your theater is set up for it, but why not release the Blu-ray in 4k so that you can get a lot more data storage on the disc and pull an ultra-high-def mix out?

Notice, too, that “Silver Springs” is added to the track list at the end. That is probably the new track list for now and the future. Every subsequent Rumours release will contain that song in the running order. It’s a little bit ahistorical and changes the listening experience — the dying out of “Gold Dust Woman” is the way the album was planned. That silence as the needle reached the inner groove was weird and very Seventies.

It bugs me to no end that such a Masterpiece can be trifled with, in this manner.

Let's change the end of Star Wars, too!
Let's give Mona Lisa a darker mustache.

"Rumours Getting Released On..."

This is how the thread title displays in the list of threads.

What was your first guess of what came next?

My first guess was "...Toilet Paper."

And the last line of the song is literally: "Is it over now (...) pick up the pieces and go home. Go home, Go home." Seems to wrap things up pretty neatly.

I think the only track that might work after that one would be Songbird, being a lullaby and all.

Is the sound any different from Amazon music's Atmos?
