Just heard on Radio2…
Christine playing Songbird.
Live from the BBC Piano room.
Live recording from 2017…she sounded wonderful and I have a big lump in my throat…
Very poignant.

Which DJ played it? I love those BBC folks.

It was Vernon Kaye…
He replaced Ken..who left for pastures new, on the 9:30 to midday slot.

Me too, he was chummy, friendly but never over the top, and very knowledgeable of the music world…also he had a great quiz….Popmaster, which he has taken with him to his new radio station.
He must have owned the rights, or something…
But Vernon is growing on me…

I heard Sara on the radio today. I couldn't tell you the last time...

There is no longer any CLASSIC country radio in Nashville, so I switched to some station that calls itself Hippie Radio. Thank god they don't play actual hippie music(I HATE the f*cking Grateful Dead with a passion). But they play all the hits you no longer hear on regular classic rock stations.

Lucky you. Here the classic rock/pop stations play always Hotel California, Dreams, Babe, etc. etc. Actually I stop listening radios long ago. I have more than 5000 songs in my own devices so I don't need radio any more.

Of course about new music I know nothing.

I quit radio. Just became one long set of ads whilst driving the car. (That was for you Tony)

That's my point. They all run GYOW and Hotel into the ground. This station plays the hits you haven't heard for 30 years.

SiriusXM is worth every penny. Willie's Roadhouse and Outlaw Country are maybe my two favorites. I'm more of a rock fan, but country is fantastic driving music.

I also listen to the Miles Davis, Bluegrass, and 40s channels when I'm sleeping.

It might seem like a frivolous expense, but well worth it.

I’m at a beach club in the south of France and I swear I can hear Everywhere playing somewhere down the coast.

Two rare ones:
Yesterday on SiriusXm 70s they played Tusk. That is a song that does not get much radio airplay these days. It does not fit with classic rock or adult contemporary stations which is a Mac staple. I've heard the song a million times but sometimes I still get confused when to yell Tusk. I feel like Stevie never knowing when to come in.

Today on SiriusXM 80s 1989 countdown this week July 17, 1989
Rooms on Fire at #21 down from its 2 weeks ago high at #16. This was a forecast that Stevie's solo career was running out of steam. First 3 solo albums had the lead single make it to the top 5. Now she could not even come close to the top 10.
However Rooms on Fire is one of my favorite singles she has released.

Never make me cry on an Australian TV current affairs programme circa 1980 about the Berlin Wall. Yes, really.

Rooms On Fire is a great song. She was very difficult to work with around this time.
