Default under the skin

I cant stop listening to this track.
I love the production....the whispery "way down the hall" echo on the vocal...the syncopated back beat...the Buckingham strum...the simplicity of it. Made me fall in love with LB all over again.

Default Under The Skin

Although I have listened to several songs for many years (SGCYM, DOR, etc.) and if I had heard these songs for the first time when the new CD was released, one of them would probably be my favorite from the CD. However, "Under The Skin" is clearly my "new" favorite. I will hit the "repeat" button many times before listening to the rest of the CD. It is similar to my experience with "Red Rover." I initially did not like the chorus of "Red Rover" ("RR, RR, we've come to take you over"), but I soon got past that and it became a favorite. I didn't care for the "bridge" of "Under The Skin" initially, but it has grown on me (I prefer the "bridge" on the live version of "Under The Skin"). I think Lindsey has a good voice and prefer to hear him singing as opposed to whispering. I love the melody as well. I must admit I am a little tired of the "Big Love" treatment on many of his songs. I much prefer the "Out of the Cradle" gems ("You Do or You Don't," "Soul Drifter," "Don't Look Down," "Say We'll Meet Again," "All My Sorrows," etc.) as opposed to "Shut Us Down" or "To Try For the Sun." That is just my personal taste and preference. I'm not a musician or a music critic, I just know what I like.

I like his new album. I have it only a week (thank you fnac belgium ), but it's very beautiful at times.

Its a GREAT song. At 2:19 it sounds like he's saying "and the sandwich shouts"

Same here. I really adore this song; I play it over and over. I find it very soothing. The lines- "Lay your head down, no one will see; cry me a river of new dreams, float yourself free" ring true for this weird phase i am going through in my own life; it's like they came from my own soul.
