Ringtones Commercial

Anyone see that annoying set of commercials on downloading ringtones and pictures? Read the fine print on the ad....$1.99 a WEEK plus CARRIER CHARGES! I can't imagine how much that really costs and how many people never read the fine print. I am still in the stone age and don't even own a cell phone (No real use for one). But that just seems nuts.

There's not just one commercial -- I've seen maybe 10 or 15 since the New Year, offering ringtones, wallpapers, etc. OMG -- one just came on as I was typing this! LOL

Unfortunately, looks like this will be the next adfad, since the Enzyte and Viagra commercials seem to be thankfully dying down. We'll just have to ride it out, I guess.

And I don't and never have owned a cell either. I do enough bad things to my body, without having to worry about brain cancer or weird ear tumors.

Also, since I typed my ringtones reply, I've seen 4 more commercials on Comedy Central -- the worst being a Sir Mix-a-Lot ringtone that's a takeoff of "Baby Got Back": "You want this CALL, and you cannot lie... You other brothas can't DE-NY..."

I don't have one. The reason being, I don't *want* people to know where I am 24/7

I know what you mean. I can't really go without one, though.

I actually do need it. It's the only way I can talk to my parents during the week, and that's just one reason. But, anyway, those I've seen for ringtones and wallpapers seem like such jokes. The ones I've seen have advertised some really cheap stuff, and I'm sure people are overcharged.

I just don't have that many calls to make, and there is really few who need to be able to reach me wherever or whenever...
