This old saying that originated in the 17th century from Rene Descartes semms to have relevancy even now. Case in Point: I went out to eat last night with a friend to a nice resturant here in town, and while waiting at the host stand to be seated this washed up has-been local tv celebrity came to the front of the line with his wife and demanded to be seated immidiately. WHen told by the host he had to wait like everyone else, the moron bellowed out "DON'T YOU KNOW WHO I AM?" to which the host replied, "Yeah, I do, you're yesterday's news, get to the back of the line!!!" I thought that took alot of balls to say, even though it was very rude of this person to do what he did. Thoughts?

I love it!

I waitressed as a second job for just about 4 years (finally able to quit the 2nd job just a couple of weeks ago). It is unbelievable how rude people are.

A few Fridays before I left, we were full, had not a horrible wait (about 25 minutes). This woman with 3 kids comes up to the hostess stand, and is told 20-25 minute wait. she got all puffy and indignant - "Well, I have 3 kids". Ok? So do half of the people in front of you, all whom were here first.

When she finally did get a table, I walked by the section she was in. The booth next to her was empty, waiting to be cleaned, and she was letting her little kid climb on the empty seat, and try to climb over the partition. Hello? Besides the horrible display of manners, what happens when the kid falls and cracks her head open? You sue the restaurant for your stupidity?

I looked at the kid standing ON THE TABLE, and said " It's for sitting at, not climbing on!". Kid stayed put after that.

I threw out a Hip/hop artists from the casino for being not acting properly in public. (who evidently thought he was SOMEONE) He gave me the usual "Don't you know who I am?" And I said "Someone who thinks money can buy respect and doesn't know how to act in public. As Security escorted him out. A few on the table were amazed by the facts that 1) I didn't know who he was ....and didn't care and 2) Bounced his butt out of there even though he was "rich and famlous". An idiot is an idiot. I actually enjoy bouncing peacocks who think they can act anyway they want just because of who they are.

Thats great!! I enjoyed all these stories. I hate people like this.
